Role Overview:

What you'll doBecome part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the range extender EV pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
  • Be responsible for the electrical hardware design of all infotainment audio components including speakers and audio amplifiers. You will cover from clean sheet of paper through virtual development, testing/sign-off and manufacturing launch for all-electric pick-up and rugged SUVs.
  • Work with Purchasing and Finance counterparts to develop technical specifications in support of the quoting and sourcing process.
  • Work with Tier 1 suppliers, key VW Group module owners, and VW Group lead design & release engineers to release all appropriate IID infotainment audio components.
  • Be part of a diverse team fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture, promoting continuous learning and professional development among team members.
  • Perform virtual and physical verification testing, including field testing.
  • Participate in DFMEA, ISO 26262, Worst Case Circuit Analysis and any other engineering activities aimed at meeting the highest engineering standards for all the components under your responsibility.
  • Ensure designs conform to safety standards and U.S. government regulations.
  • Proactively stay attuned to consumer experience and propose system improvements accordingly.
  • Contribute to the design of production facilities for Scout trucks & SUVs.
  • Manage supplier resources efficiently to deliver components and systems that
  • meet cost, timing, and quality targets.

Here's what else you'll bring:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, or combined electrical engineering, systems engineering, or a relevant field.
  • 15+ years of experience in the infotainment audio component areas with relevant automotive assignments covering all phases of product development (design, test, and launch).
  • Knowledge of infotainment software stacks and System-On-Chip as they pertain to the design of the infotainment control head.
  • Strong technical skills and expertise in infotainment systems, employing a six-sigma approach to engineering design and problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE) or direct experience in this field.
  • Understanding of infotainment system interactions with chassis, drive, OBD, communications and audio systems.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Practical knowledge of infotainment system validation and verification processes and tools.
  • VW group experience desirable
