SBA Associate

Irvine, CA

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

Responsible for working directly with Business Banking team and SBA sales and support teams, internal colleagues and clients on a daily basis in handling all areas of operations processes, business loans and SBA loans originations, sales pipeline management; and support business banking leadership and SBA leadership in administrative tasks.

Expert in all aspects of providing exemplary colleague and client service and assisting colleagues with any business banking needs and be a designee for SBA loans transactions specifically. Actively engages in completing all loan originations to ensure inquiries/issues are resolved, and analyzes operational needs for enhancements opportunities. Provides accurate and timely responses to colleagues and/or client inquiries to ensure retention of existing profitable clients and provide a positive colleague experience with SBA.

Will be capable of opening new accounts, be conversant in most product capabilities and recommendations, and contribute to PBB, Business Banking and SBA in meeting sales and service objectives.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Acts as a champion for clients and colleagues providing exemplary service. Partners with CNB colleagues in all divisions of the bank to support client retention objectives and proactively promotes solutions appropriate to clients.
  • Supports sales colleagues to build and maintain PBB, Business Banking and SBA client relationships. Works with business partners to deliver solutions in order to maintain and grow client relationships. Recognizes and recommends cross-selling opportunities to maximize banking office profitability.
  • Interacts in an effective and professional manner with all levels of Bank personnel, corporate and bank clients demonstrating commitment to quality client service.
  • Ensures that decisions made are consistent with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as applicable regulations, and that the risk associated with those decisions can be effectively managed.
  • Maintains collaboration with the Small Business Credit ("SBC") PBB Credit and Admin support, CLO and sales partners.
  • Complies fully with all Bank Operational and Credit policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements (e.g. Bank Secrecy Act, Know Your Client, Community Reinvestment Act, Fair Lending Practices, Code of Conduct, etc.).
  • SBA specifics:
  • - Sales Team Support:
  • Ensure loan application packages are complete and accurate prior to loan submission to credit.
  • Enter and submit SBA loan applications through the bank's origination platform, nCino, tracking milestones and ensuring timely progression.
  • Support pre and post approval loan activity, including coordinating with underwriting, loan administration and closing teams.
  • Collaborate directly with SBA Loan Administrators to facilitate a smooth post-approval process and rive timely loan funding.
  • Monitor and manage pipeline activity to help the team meet key performance targets.
  • Assist with scheduling, preparing client-facing documents, and other administrative needs to support sales efforts.
  • Provide proactive communication updates to team members on deal status and outstanding items.
  • Continuously identify and recommend process improvements to streamline the SBA lending process.

Administrative tasks:
  • Process for Loan originations
  • Centralized Coordinator for CNB sales partners along with SBA Credit, Loan Administration and CLO

SBA Loan processing:
  • 3rd party reports
  • Escrow and title
  • Payoff demands
  • Insurance

SBA required items:
  • Management support:
  • Sales pipeline conciliation and ongoing management
  • Scorecard tracking support

Operations management:
  • Ongoing development of deals processing

CRA tracking:
  • Ongoing leadership, training and act as liaison across the BBRA and other related job families
  • Responsible in keeping up to date with ongoing SBA SOPs updates and changes

Onboarding: new colleagues for Business Banking and SBA
  • Assists the Client Officer/Client Manager in coordinating branch operations workflow to ensure exemplary client service and adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Provides assistance as needed in different positions in every area of the branch operations, including new accounts.
  • Can handle more complex issues.
  • At this level, colleagues have and are further developing branch operations knowledge such as regulations, bank policies and practices.
  • May train and provide guidance to less experienced Associates
  • Typically at a moderate to high volume transaction office.

Compensation
Starting base salary: $78,970 - $126,140 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
