Role Overview:The SAP Fioneer FPSL Banking Consultant is responsible for hands-on functional configuration and implementation of SAP Fioneer Financial Products Subledger (FPSL) for banking products. This role supports detailed design, build, testing, and deployment of integration with source systems, event-based accounting, ensuring accurate subledger postings and seamless integration with SAP S/4HANA Finance in line with IFRS 9 and local GAAP requirements. The consultant acts as a functional execution specialist, translating approved finance designs into FPSL configuration and supporting testing, reconciliation, and go-live activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Configure FPSL objects for banking products including Loans, Deposits, Money market instruments, and Securities/bonds.
- Implement FPSL components such as Contract types, Event types, and Posting schemas.
- Support setup of Valuation areas, Subledger accounting layers, and Accounting principles/ledgers.
- Implement FPSL accounting logic aligned to IFRS 9 classification (AC / FVOCI / FVTPL), Effective Interest Rate (EIR) based accruals, and Fee and charge handling.
- Support postings related to Initial recognition, Accruals and amortization, and Derecognition events.
- Assist in validating accounting outcomes and posting results at contract and GL level.
- Support inbound integration from Core banking systems and Treasury/trading platforms.
- Assist with Event payload validation, Attribute mappings, and enrichments.
- Support outbound integration to SAP S/4HANA Universal Journal and validate Document splitting, GL account derivations, and Posting completeness/consistency.
- Execute and support Unit Testing (UT), System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Perform and support reconciliations between source system vs FPSL and FPSL subledger vs SAP GL.
- Analyze and resolve Posting errors, Accounting mismatches, and Integration defects.
- Support parallel run activities with legacy subledgers.
- Prepare functional deliverables including Configuration documents, Test scripts, and Mapping/reconciliation documents.
- Support Knowledge transfer to client teams, Go-live readiness, and Hypercare activities.
Required Skills:- Practical experience with SAP Fioneer FPSL (Banking context).
- Practical experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance integration.
- Strong understanding of Banking products accounting.
- Strong understanding of Event-based / transaction-based accounting concepts.
- Good working knowledge of IFRS 9 fundamentals (implementation perspective).
- 2 end to end SAP FPSL implementation experiences.
- SAP S/4HANA knowledge.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to work under guidance of Finance Lead / Architect.
- Clear communication with finance and IT stakeholders.
Qualifications:- 4-8 years of experience in banking finance or accounting system implementations.
Preferred Skills:- Experience with Core banking systems integration.
- Experience with High-volume transaction processing.
- Experience with Reconciliation and finance close cycles.
- Exposure to other SAP Fioneer offerings.
- Prior experience in Large SAP programs.
- Prior experience in Regulatory or audit-driven finance transformations.
