Position Title: SAP Basis Lead/ Architect
Location: Hybrid; Remote Off-Site and On-Site in Middletown, PA
Duration: Long term Note: Hybrid work environment is expected to be 1-week per month on-site in
Middletown PA, varying with project needs.
Job Description: Our SAP Basis Architect will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our SAP landscapes. The SAP Basis Architect will play a strategic role in shaping our SAP environment, providing direction on best practices, optimizing performance, and ensuring seamless integration with other enterprise applications. The SAP Basis Architect will also work closely with cross-functional teams to support business goals and align the SAP architecture with organizational objectives.
- Architect and Design SAP Landscapes: Lead the architecture and strategic planning of SAP landscapes (S/4HANA, ECC, NetWeaver, and others) to support business requirements, scalability, and system stability.
- System Performance Optimization: Define and enforce standards for SAP performance tuning, system monitoring, and proactive issue resolution.
- Technical Strategy and Roadmap Development: Develop and execute a technology roadmap for SAP solutions, staying updated on new releases, SAP innovations, and best practices.
- Security and Compliance: Oversee SAP security and compliance practices, ensuring data protection and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Capacity Planning and Scalability: Conduct capacity planning and ensure systems are prepared to handle future growth and changes using tools such as SAP Quick Sizer and EarlyWatch.
- Lead Upgrades and Migrations: Manage large-scale SAP upgrades, migrations (including cloud migrations), and other high-impact projects.
- Disaster Recovery and High Availability: Design and implement solutions for high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with functional and technical teams to develop solutions that align with both business and IT goals.
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain detailed architectural documentation, guidelines, and best practices.
The Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus
- 10+ Years of hands-on SAP Basis experience, with 7+ Years in a strategic, architectural role
- Extensive experience with SAP S/4HANA, ECC, NetWeaver, and cloud-based SAP solutions
- Proven expertise in SAP landscape design, implementation, and management
- Strong understanding of SAP HANA database architecture and optimization
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-hosted SAP solutions
- Proficiency in SAP security, user administration, and compliance frameworks
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with experience leading complex, multi-functional projects
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to SAP systems management
- SAP Certified Technology Architect or similar advanced SAP certification is preferred
- Familiarity with SAP Fiori, BTP (Business Technology Platform), and other SAP advanced features is preferred
- Working knowledge of ITIL practices and methodologies is preferred
- BRIM Implementation experience is needed
- Experience with scripting and automation tools to optimize SAP Basis processes is preferred
