Position Title: Sanitation Manager

What you'll be doing.

The Sanitation Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for all sanitation, food safety, and facility hygiene programs. This role is responsible for ensuring a safe, compliant, and audit-ready environment through the effective execution of sanitation processes that meet federal, state, customer, and McCain Foods requirements. Y our day-to-day may consist of:

  • Lead sanitation, food safety, HACCP, pest control, and compliance programs ensuring audit readiness and regulatory adherence.
  • Oversee sanitation operations, shutdown cleanups, facility improvements, and drive continuous improvement using KPIs and performance analysis.
  • Develop and coach sanitation personnel, promote safety culture, and ensure departmental competency through training and performance reviews.
  • Manage sanitation budgets, chemical inventories, contractor and vendor relationships, and equipment upgrades.
  • Communicate sanitation standards, facilitate meetings, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across departments.


This role works in a manufacturing environment with potential exposure to loud noises, strong odors, temperature fluctuations, moving machinery, wet or humid conditions, hazardous chemicals, high or confined areas, extreme temperatures, and vibration throughout various facility areas.

What you'll need to be successful.

  • High school diploma or GED required. A degree in food sciences is strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in food safety regulations, sanitation procedures, quality control, and food production or processing environments required. Prior management or leadership experience required.
  • Demonstrates a continuous learning mindset and flexibility to adapt to new equipment, processes, and tasks as needed.
  • Embraces technology, effectively utilizes digital tools for data entry, and follows digital production processes and metrics.
  • Communicates clearly and independently in English, follows instructions, completes documentation, and collaborates with team members.
  • Prioritizes product quality, safety, and accuracy by maintaining meticulous attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Exhibits punctuality, a positive attitude, strong teamwork, and effective interpersonal skills-especially in handling challenging situations and supporting a 24/7 work environment.

Compensation Package : $81,600.00 - $108,900.00 . USD annually + Bonus eligibility
