  • Collaborate with management and other departments to improve sanitation standards

Full Job Description
OVERVIEW:

The Sanitation Manager directs and coordinates the execution of activities related to the cleaning and sanitizing of the facility and on-site equipment at the Refinery. Conducts all aspects of job duties in a safe and responsible manner. Partners with other department Managers to establish a defined cleaning frequency, training, work instructions, and through verification activities ensures the effectiveness of the facility sanitation program.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conducts quartely sanitation udits.
  • Maintains enhaced sanitation plan with regular scheduled sanitation inspections and corrective action to deliver prioritized cleaning activities.
  • Creates SSOP/CIC for prioritized basic tasks.
  • Conducts monthly inner-department MSC task completion audit.
  • Submits capital project for refinery sanitation improvements.
  • Coordinates and executes the cleaning of equipment and work areas.
  • Manages both cleaning contractors and cleaning employees at the facility
  • Inspects premises for unsanitary practices and conditions. Compiles required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies.
  • Manages sanitation preventive maintenance program
  • Reviews and oversees the Plant Sanitation Program, including working with Cleaning and Sanitation Chemical supplier(s) to determine best cleaning and sanitizing agents and methods for maintaining Company and Regulatory cleaning and sanitizing standards.
  • Completes associated documentation in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
  • Conducts investigations and root cause analysis on any customer complaints and quality issues pertaining to potential sanitation issues.
  • Confers with management, Quality Assurance, Safety and production personnel on sanitation problems, and recommends changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and purity of product.
  • Ensures GMP's & PPE's are always met
  • Other job duties as assigned.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to be trusted with high sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
  • Proficient on Microsoft Office applications and software programs used in the workplace
  • Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Two to four years related experience or equivalent in manufacturing environment (food industry preferred)
  • Five or more years of proven accomplishments in the supervision of employees, including training, coaching, and team building
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline from an accredited college/university is required or equivalent experience


MANAGEGMENT RESPONSIBILITY:
  • Responsible for training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Coordinates Company Cleaning Schedule activities
  • Full participation during food safety audits
  • Ensures activities complies with all claims and site food safety programs such as Gluten Free and Kosher claims as well as Organic and Allergen programs.
  • Ensure Labor Contract is followed by all employees and reports any potential violation.
  • Initiate disciplinary measures according to the Labor Contract.
  • Review hourly employees' performance and identify training needs
  • Review and improve employee utilization
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.

LOCATION:
  • Baltimore, MD


SALARY PAY RANGE: $94,000 - $174,000 plus bonus
  • The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate's qualifications and prior experience.
  • Benefits include healthcare (medical, dental, vision, prescription drugs) available the first of the month following 30 days of employment, 401(k) with match, life insurance, AD&D, short-term disability, vacation, holiday and sick time.
