Position Overview
SMX is seeking a
Salesforce Technical Project Manager to support the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)
Enterprise Cloud Customer Relationship Management Platform (ECCRMP) program.
This is a
Key Personnel position responsible for overseeing Salesforce platform governance, Agile
delivery, release coordination, production support, stakeholder engagement, and modernization initiatives.
The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional teams, manage project execution, facilitate Agile processes, coordinate releases, track risks and issues, and ensure alignment with CBP program objectives. Success in this role requires strong project leadership, technical understanding, and experience operating within a structured federal government environment.
Key Responsibilities
Agile Delivery
- Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, backlog refinement, and other Agile ceremonies.
- Monitor sprint progress and ensure timely delivery of project objectives.
Project Management
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, and action items.
- Track project performance and ensure deadlines are met.
Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as a liaison between Government stakeholders, program leadership, and technical teams.
- Provide clear and consistent project updates, status reports, and risk communications.
Cross-Functional Team Leadership
- Coordinate efforts across Salesforce developers, architects, analysts, release managers, and support teams.
- Foster collaboration and accountability across project resources.
Production Support & Release Management
- Support release planning, deployment activities, migration efforts, and post-release support.
- Coordinate production issue resolution and change management activities.
Risk & Issue Management
- Identify project risks, dependencies, and blockers.
- Escalate issues appropriately and drive resolution to maintain project momentum.
Governance & Reporting
- Support CBP governance requirements, status reporting, meeting documentation, and quality assurance processes.
- Ensure compliance with established program controls and reporting standards.
Required Qualifications
Experience Level
- Senior-level professional with 10-15 years of relevant experience.
Salesforce / Cloud Delivery
- Experience managing Salesforce projects or similar enterprise cloud platform implementations.
Agile Program Management
- Proven experience managing full lifecycle Agile projects and delivery teams.
Technical Leadership
- Experience leading cross-functional technical teams in complex environments.
Production Delivery
- Hands-on experience supporting production deployments, system releases, modernization initiatives, or migration efforts.
Communication Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with executive and Government stakeholders.
Availability
- Must be available full-time for the duration of the contract and able to participate in project kickoff activities.
Location Requirement
- Must be local to the preferred area or capable of working onsite as needed.
- Remote work is subject to Government approval.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications
- PMP, PgMP, or other project/program management certifications.
Federal Government Experience
- Prior experience supporting CBP, DHS, federal civilian agencies, or other Government IT programs.
Salesforce Expertise
- Salesforce Government Cloud experience.
- Salesforce platform governance, administration, or release management experience.

- Agile project management tools
Security Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is expected for access to CBP systems unless otherwise approved by the Government.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any required CBP suitability determination or background investigation clearance.
