Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Salesforce Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Herndon, VA. The qualified applicant will become part of Peraton's Department of State (DOS) Consular Systems Modernization (CSM) Program, for the Bureau of Diplomatic Technology (DT). This initiative is intended to modernize and consolidate the operational environment under a common technology framework in order to better support the services provided to DT’s customers.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design and provide solution recommendations and roadmaps for service modernizations using Salesforce Platform, both out-of-box capabilities and customized solutions.
- Work closely with Delivery Managers, Solution Architects, and directly with customers to architect Salesforce solutions to meet business requirements.
- Develop architecture models and blueprints depicting Salesforce solutions, along with service integrations, for service modernizations.
- Document, maintain, and govern Salesforce solutions, both out-of-box capabilities and customized, to meet business requirements for service modernizations across their respective lifecycles.
- Architect Salesforce solutions that integrate with external systems via secure REST APIs and microservices operating in cloud and on0premises environments.
- Strong communication with teams, customers, and project stakeholders, as well as provide leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate architecture reviews for new features and integrations, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, compliant with ATO and accessibility requirements, and aligned with DoS enterprise standards and security policies.
- Contribute to a program vision while advising and articulating program/project strategies on enabling technologies including the Salesforce Platform.
- Ensure that the system accurately meets the defined expectations of the business, ensuring that proper testing is implemented, and performance and security requirements are closely monitored by working with development teams.
- Ensure systems meet business, security, performance, and ATO compliance requirements by working with development, DevSecOps, and security teams throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 12 years’ of experience or Masters Degree and 10 years of experience.
- 6+ years of hands-on implementation experience designing sound and scalable technical solutions on the Salesforce platform that meet end-to-end integration requirements.
- 4+ years of experience in an architect role on large scale Salesforce implementations.
- Demonstrate knowledge, skills and capabilities to design and build high-performance technical solutions on Salesforce platform.
- Experience ensuring architecture meets ATO security requirements, Section 508 accessibility, and federal compliance standards.
- Demonstrate an understanding of and ability to architect solutions to address security complexities, mechanisms, and data integration capabilities on the Salesforce platform.
- Experience presenting and effectively communicating technical solutions to clients, including limitations and design tradeoffs, from inception through successful implementation.
- Must be able to obtain or have an Active Secret (or higher) clearance. Interim clearances are acceptable.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on, full life-cycle Salesforce implementation experience with strong expertise in modules such as Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Marketing Cloud.
- Experience architecting solutions that integrate Salesforce with external systems using secure REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven patterns.
- Hands-on experience developing scalable Apex solutions including classes, triggers, queueable jobs, batch Apex, and integration logic.
- Experience supporting Agile delivery teams across multiple concurrent products, including participation in backlog grooming, Sprint planning, and release readiness.
- Experience supporting public-facing applications aligned with USWDS design guidance and federal UX standards.
- Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA).
Target Salary Range$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
