Compensation: $80,000-$100,000 + bonus opportunity (OTE of $160,000 or more / uncapped)

The job: As a Sales Solutions Engineer at Buildertrend, you'll help construction professionals solve real business challenges with technology that keeps projects moving and teams connected. You'll partner with sales teams and prospective customers to understand how builders work today, then show them a smarter, more efficient way to manage projects, communication and profitability. Your ability to connect technical expertise with real-world construction workflows will directly influence customer growth and long-term success. In your first year, success means becoming a trusted advisor who helps customers confidently adopt solutions that improve how they build.
What you will do: - Partner with sales team members to identify customer needs and recommend software solutions that align with construction workflows and business goals.
- Lead product demonstrations that clearly show how Buildertrend helps contractors improve communication, efficiency and profitability.
- Consult with prospective customers on software configuration, integrations and customization options to support their day-to-day operations.
- Build strong relationships with customers by serving as a trusted technical resource throughout the sales process.
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing and Customer Success teams to share customer feedback and influence future enhancements.
- Maintain accurate pipeline activity, customer interactions and forecasting details within Salesforce.
- Facilitate biweekly product roundtables and stay current on software updates, construction technology trends and emerging tools.
- Embrace using AI as a tool to enhance your work, while remaining open to learning, applying critical thinking, and owning the quality of your final work.
Who you are and what you need: - 5+ years of experience in software sales engineering, sales support or consultative solution selling required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction industry workflows, operational challenges and software solutions preferred.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Experience leading software demonstrations and presenting tailored solutions to prospective customers.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms such as Salesforce.
- Strong problem-solving, communication and customer relationship management skills.

- 1. Technical Expertise: Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of our construction software solutions, including features, functionality, and integration capabilities. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings to maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace. Leverage technical expertise to provide consultative support to clients, offering insights and recommendations on implementing and customizing our software to meet unique requirements.
- 2. Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to identify and qualify opportunities, leveraging technical knowledge to assess customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions. Conducted product demonstrations (alongside members of our sales team), showcasing the value proposition of our software and highlighting its ability to address specific pain points within the construction industry. Assist in developing sales strategies, providing technical insights and expertise to support the sales process and overcome objections.
- 3. Solution Design and Customization: Work closely with clients to understand their business processes, workflows, and requirements, offering tailored solutions that align with their objectives and challenges. Guide software configuration, customization, and integration to ensure seamless implementation and alignment with client workflows. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Marketing, and Customer Success to gather customer feedback and insights, share best practices, and drive continuous improvement and enhancements of our software
- 4. Client Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with prospective clients, acting as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for technical inquiries, support, and guidance. Identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional products or services based on customer needs and predicted usage patterns.
- 5. Sales Performance and Reporting: Meet and exceed sales targets and objectives, consistently delivering results in a competitive sales environment. Maintain accurate and up to date records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline status in Salesforce. Provide regular updates and reports to sales management, offering insights into sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback.
- 6. Continuous Learning and Development: Owning new features, updates, and enhancements to our software solution, participating in training programs and certification courses as needed to maintain expertise. Conduct bi-weekly product round tables that discuss software capabilities, enhancements, and best practices.
