Pay: $110,000 - $125,000 Salary + BonusJob Summary:Apex is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager. The Sales Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and executing sales strategies to drive revenue growth within the waste and recycling industry. This role oversees a team of sales representatives, builds strong relationships with commercial, residential and industrial customers, and ensures sales activities align with company goals, pricing strategies, and service capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:Sales Leadership & Strategy- Develop and implement sales plans to achieve revenue, margin, and growth targets
- Lead, coach, and motivate a team of sales representatives to consistently meet or exceed goals
- Establish sales metrics, track performance, and provide regular reporting to senior leadership
Business Development- Identify and pursue new commercial, industrial, and municipal sales opportunities
- Manage key accounts and negotiate service agreements, renewals, and pricing
- Collaborate with operations and customer service to ensure smooth onboarding and retention
Market & Industry Expertise- Stay informed on waste industry trends, regulations, competitors, and pricing structures
- Ensure sales proposals align with operational capabilities, routing efficiency, and compliance requirements
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities
Team Development- Recruit, train, and onboard new sales team members
- Conduct regular ride-alongs, performance reviews, and coaching sessions
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and customer focus
Customer Experience- Resolve escalated customer issues related to service, pricing, or contracts
- Ensure long-term customer satisfaction and retention through proactive relationship management
Qualifications & Experience:Required- Minimum five years of proven sales experience in the waste industry
- 2+ years of sales management or leadership experience
- Strong understanding of waste industry pricing, contracts, and service models
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
Preferred- Experience selling commercial and industrial waste services
- Knowledge of routing, hauling, and operational constraints
- CRM experience (Salesforce or similar platforms)
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field

Working Conditions:- Monday-Friday, standard business hours, with occasional evening or weekend work depending on client availability or business needs.
- Combination of office work and field visits to client sites, including industrial, commercial, and outdoor environments.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods while meeting with clients or conducting site assessments.
- Frequent local travel within assigned territory; occasional travel outside the region for training or company meetings may be required.
- Weather Conditions: May be exposed to various weather conditions while conducting on-site visits.
