Full Job Description
Position Summary:

We are seeking a hands-on Sales Manager for our regional glass company. You will be a "player-coach" who leads the sales team while actively selling your own leads. You will help execute the strategy, hit aggressive sales targets, develop your team, and maintain a personal book of business by hunting new leads, building relationships, and closing deals.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves both leading people and closing big-ticket glass projects, and is comfortable working in the field and in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Strategy:

  • Execute the company's sales strategy and help refine it based on market feedback
  • Set, enforce, and track individual and team sales targets
  • Lead weekly sales meetings with a focus on accountability, pipeline review, and skill development
  • Coach, mentor, and support sales team members on their deals, challenges, and professional growth
  • Address team needs, performance issues, and roadblocks quickly and effectively

2. Sales Operations & Reporting:

  • Ensure all sales data (CRM entries, quotes, orders) is accurate, timely, and complete
  • Build and maintain sales dashboards and reports for leadership, using AI where available
  • Monitor key performance indicators and provide clear visibility into pipeline health and forecast accuracy
  • Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and win rates

3. Hands-On Selling:

  • Maintain and grow a personal portfolio of key accounts and new business opportunities
  • Prospect and work your own lead lists (cold calls, networking, referrals, project bids)
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with contractors, architects, builders, and property owners
  • Prepare quotes, conduct site visits, negotiate terms, and close sales
  • Manage the full sales cycle for your own deals from lead to installation follow-up

4. Team & Culture:

  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative sales culture focused on results and continuous improvement
  • Work closely with production, installation, and project management teams to ensure smooth handoffs and customer satisfaction
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard new sales talent as needed

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of sales experience in the glass, glazing, construction, or building materials industry
  • 2+ years of proven sales leadership or team management experience
  • Demonstrated success closing large, complex B2B sales in the six and seven figure range
  • Strong understanding of the regional construction market and glass/glazing applications
  • Experience with CRM systems and sales reporting tools
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to balance leadership and individual contributor duties
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the region as needed

Compensation:

  • Competitive base salary + uncapped commission + benefits package
  • Exact compensation will be based on experience and proven track record
