About the team

The Virtus North America Sales team is made up of seasoned and experienced top performing salespeople who have domain knowledge and expertise in the credit market with specialization in leveraged loans. We take a consultative approach to selling bundled solutions that cross multiple products and include both technology and services.

The leveraged loan market is at an all-time high in terms of outstanding issuance. Investment managers are looking for scalable operations and technology solutions with rich data to help them make more informed investment decisions. Virtus from FIS is uniquely positioned to address this direct need in the credit market with an unparalleled suite of solutions.

What you will be doing

  • Cover a list of assigned prospective accounts that have no existing business with the firm today.
  • Qualify leads by gathering information on a prospect's existing infrastructure, business model, and third-party relationships.
  • Effectively penetrating C-suite and management level contacts at each firm
  • Understanding of the competitive landscape in the leveraged loan space and differentiating our products and services to win business
  • Responsible for leading the company's efforts in sales calls, presentations, demonstrations, proof of concepts, internal training, assessing services and proposals related to our products
  • Build annual strategic sales plans around potential buyer client segments including CLO managers, direct lenders, insurance companies, investment banks, registered investment advisors, and regional banks with measurable goals, calling plans, opportunity sets, and strategies
  • Apply a consultative approach and ability to direct our resources in analyzing customers' business and technology requirements and developing customized and bundled solutions to fit the needs of our clients
  • Monitor and understand customer needs, market and economic trends as well as business opportunities and threats in order to identify needs and opportunities in the market and drive revenue growth
  • Partner with functional leaders (Product, Client Services, Marketing, Executive Management) to ensure full leverage of all available resources to drive value and secure top positions in the structured credit, middle office outsourcing, direct lending, and front office technology spaces


What you bring:

  • Strong understanding of the credit space and structured finance, including familiarity with deal structures, operational and technological requirements, and competitors.
  • A deep list of relevant contacts and relationships in the credit space that would be well suited for our suite of solutions
  • A comprehensive knowledge and experience of the sale cycle and business development process, which includes maintaining close relationships with prospects, facilitating and coordinating internal resources to deliver best-in-class demos and presentations, and following through on opportunities through execution


Bonus if you have:
  • Experience working at a competitor or another firm in the Structured Credit (CLO) industry
  • Experience working with Product Management to give our products a competitive advantage.

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $122,820.00 - $208,790.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
