Role Description

BodorLaser is seeking a highly self-motivated and ambitious Laser Welding Machine Sales Engineer or Account Manager to join our team for a full-time, remote role covering the Northeast U.S. market.

This position will focus specifically on the sales and business development of laser welding machines and related welding solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing customer relationships, providing product and technical solutions, and driving welding machine sales throughout the assigned territory.

The assigned sales territory includes:

Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, and Rhode Island.

Candidates must reside in New York, Pennsylvania, or New Jersey. Candidates currently located outside these three states must be willing to relocate to New York, Pennsylvania, or New Jersey.

The ideal candidate will have strong initiative, excellent business communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to independently develop a multi-state sales territory. Experience in welding equipment, laser welding, industrial machinery, machine tools, or manufacturing-related sales is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Drive sales and business development specifically for laser welding machines and related welding solutions throughout the assigned Northeast territory.
  • Identify and pursue new customers and business opportunities across Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, and Rhode Island.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers, distributors, and other relevant industry partners.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle, including lead generation, prospect qualification, customer visits, product demonstrations, quotations, negotiations, and closing.
  • Understand customers' welding applications, production requirements, materials, and technical challenges and recommend appropriate laser welding solutions.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the regional welding equipment market, competitors, customer needs, and industry trends.
  • Regularly visit customer facilities throughout the assigned territory to identify opportunities, demonstrate products, provide solutions, and maintain customer relationships.
  • Collaborate with internal Marketing, Operations, Product, and Service teams to ensure customer requirements are addressed effectively.
  • Work closely with Product and technical teams from the parent company regarding welding applications, machine configurations, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed proposals, quotations, product presentations, and technical information.
  • Assist with trade shows, industry events, product demonstrations, conferences, and other promotional activities related to welding products.
  • Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and sales activity information in the CRM system.
  • Regularly report sales pipeline, market developments, customer feedback, competitive information, and sales progress to management.
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales targets for the laser welding product line.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • Must currently reside in New York, Pennsylvania, or New Jersey, or be willing to relocate to one of these states.
  • Strong self-motivation and ability to independently develop and manage a large multi-state sales territory.
  • Excellent business communication, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English; basic communication skills in Mandarin Chinese preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently throughout the assigned Northeast territory, including overnight business travel.
  • Experience in B2B sales, technical sales, business development, or account management within industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and creating sales reports, proposals, and presentations.
  • Ability to understand customer applications and communicate technical product information effectively.
  • Able to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional and international teams.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work outside regular business hours due to customer needs and coordination across time zones.
  • Bachelor's degree or above.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience selling welding equipment, laser welding machines, welding automation, industrial machinery, machine tools, or related manufacturing equipment.
  • Existing knowledge of the welding industry and customer base in the Northeast U.S.
  • Familiarity with laser welding technology, welding applications, welding processes, or industrial automation.
  • Experience developing new territories and acquiring new B2B customers.
  • Existing customer relationships or industry network within the assigned Northeast territory.
  • Prior experience working in a cross-cultural or multinational company environment.
  • Mandarin Chinese communication skills are a plus.
Location & Sales Territory

This is a fully remote position, but candidates must reside in New York, Pennsylvania, or New Jersey.

The position is responsible for laser welding machine sales and business development across the following states:

New York (NY) • Pennsylvania (PA) • New Jersey (NJ) • Maryland (MD) • Delaware (DE) • Massachusetts (MA) • Connecticut (CT) • New Hampshire (NH) • Vermont (VT) • Maine (ME) • Rhode Island (RI)

Frequent travel throughout the territory is required to visit customers, conduct product demonstrations, develop new business, attend trade shows, and support sales activities.

Candidates residing outside New York, Pennsylvania, or New Jersey must be willing to relocate to one of these three states.
