What You'll Get To Do:

As a Sales Engineer for Panasonic's Projector and Display America's team, you will support the PPNDA Sales team in selling products and solutions using a consultative sales approach.

Success in this role will require you to:
  • Understand and effectively communicate the technical aspects and benefits of Panasonic products and solutions
  • Gather customer requirements, recommend appropriate Panasonic and third-party products and solutions, and perform system design tasks
  • Provide on-site engineering services such as product configuration, adjustment, integration, and commissioning
  • Train PPNDA sales team, integrators, and end customers on PPNDA products and solutions
  • Collaborate with the other PPNDA engineering and Service team members to troubleshoot customer product and application issues
  • Candidate needs to currently be located in the West coast preferably LA, CA, Las Vegas, NV, San Francisco, CA, Phoenix AZ, Denver CO.

Sales Support
  • Conduct technical pre-sales visits with customers, partners and sales managers for products, solutions, and consulting services.
  • Perform product demonstrations and shoot-outs
  • Create customer system designs and layouts for projector, display and other solution installations
  • Support Panasonic and partner sales events, trade shows, and seminars
  • Train sales team on products, solutions, and technologies
  • Maintain the Standard operating procedure (SOP) on conducting engineering customer meetings

Customer Support
  • Manage and resolve assigned product/solution performance and operation issues in a timely manner
  • Conduct on-site and virtual operation and maintenance training for Panasonic products and solutions
  • Provide on-site paid services for installation support, equipment setup and commissioning
  • Own technical escalation for complex issues requiring end-to-end resolution

Continuing Education
  • Continually expand relevant A/V and Information technology knowledge through formal training and self-study, with a special focus on the technologies associated with new Panasonic products and solutions
  • Maintain expertise and working knowledge of Panasonic and third-party software and products that are part of larger ecosystems.
  • Participate in mandatory Product and Service meetings with factory product and service teams

Voice of the Customer (VOC)
  • Create, maintain, and foster relationships with the customer base to gather information on customer likes and dislikes, competitor likes/dislikes, and unmet needs through face-to-face meetings, focus groups, support questions, etc.
  • Generate VOC reports for use by product managers, planning, and development teams in the US and Japan

Additional Tasks
  • Ensure departmental tasks are completed in a timely, accurate, and complete way.
  • Train new staff. Make sure group is familiar with new and emerging technology.
  • Additional tasks assigned by management

Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in technical field or equivalent experience in a AV Installation or Live Events environment; Certifications such as CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, (IT certifications) a plus
  • Excellent Panasonic projector and professional display product knowledge and a deep understanding of their applications, features, operations, and competitive products
  • 3+ years professional experience in the projection and professional display industry - e.g., manufacturer, systems integrator, AV rental & staging house, or end-user technical operations. 2+ years of that experience must be hands-on, in-the-field deployment of A/V products and integrated solutions in live event production and/or permanent AV installation environments.
  • Demonstrated hands-on proficiency with: projector setup and image optimization (lens selection, throw distance, stacking, warping, edge blending, color matching), display and LED wall configuration, A/V signal distribution and control (HDMI, HDBaseT, SDI, DisplayPort, NDI/AV-over-IP), and network-based device control and monitoring.
  • Experience reading and working from AV system drawings, signal flow diagrams, and site plans; performing on-site commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting; and supporting systems under live, time-critical show conditions.
  • Experience adopting and applying emerging AI technologies to enhance productivity and contribute to a culture of continuous innovation.

  • Highly motivated individual who is quick learning, intuitive and can manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) complex technical, project, and sales-related issues to customers, prospects, and PPNDA team members
  • Create and deliver effective and persuasive presentations to small and large audiences
  • Develop and foster collaborative working relationships with customers, consultants, integrators, partners, and team members

Other Requirements:
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic environment with minimal day-to-day supervision
  • 60% travel. Travel notice can be as short as 24hrs to 48hrs
  • Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 30 lbs.
