Full Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced SailPoint Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SailPoint with specific expertise in connector bundle functionality, Segregation of Duties (SoD) module, and Role Mining. This role will be responsible for designing, configuring, and maintaining IAM solutions that ensure secure, efficient, and compliant access across the organization. The SailPoint IAM Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support governance, streamline role management, and enhance the overall identity lifecycle management process. ***This position requires onsite presence five days per week, with Raleigh, NC designated as the preferred location. Charlotte, NC and Atlanta, GA will also be considered. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Specific activities may change from time to time. • Design, implement, and maintain SailPoint and related identity security solutions to protect enterprise systems, applications, and data. • Help lead and execute all phases of the security engineering lifecycle, including threat modeling, secure design, testing (SAST, DAST, SCA), and vulnerability remediation. • Configure, integrate, and support identity and cybersecurity technologies, including installation, automation, change management, and operational handoff to support teams. • Develop and maintain security baselines, guardrails, and governance controls to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational policies. • Perform security assessments, penetration testing, and structured analysis to identify, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities across systems and applications. • Analyze existing systems and emerging technologies to recommend enhancements, drive improvements, and optimize performance, scalability, and security posture. • Collaborate with engineering, product, and architecture teams to embed secure-by-design principles into development and identity lifecycle processes. • Act as a technical escalation point for complex security and identity issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing durable solutions. • Support and lead cybersecurity initiatives, including incident response, basic forensics, and continuous improvement of detection and response processes. • Contribute to capacity planning, system baselining, and trend analysis to support future growth and evolving security requirements. • Lead or contribute to cybersecurity projects and workstreams, ensuring quality delivery, alignment with strategy, and effective use of resources. • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing to peers and cross-functional teams. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, training, and work-related experience. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in security engineering or related cybersecurity roles. • Advanced knowledge in cybersecurity principles, theories, and concepts. • Proven experience in software development lifecycle security practices. • Advanced knowledge of threat modeling, security testing, and penetration testing. • Experience implementing and managing complex information security technologies. Preferred Qualifications • Master's degree or MBA Previous experience in the banking industry • 7+ years of progressive work experience in Cybersecurity • Experience conducting, preparing and presenting analysis, findings and recommendations • Cyber security certifications such a CISA, CISSP • Hands on managing multiple IGA platforms (ex. Oracle Identity Manager, SailPoint, Saviynt) • Understanding of Connector bundles functionality, SOD Module and Role Mining.
