Responsibilities

  • Conduct health and safety audits and inspections at construction sites

Full Job Description
OVERVIEW:

The Safety Specialist 2 works in the field to conduct health and safety audits and inspections of construction sites throughout Encore's business region, ensuring all health and safety regulations and company policies are in compliance with applicable State and Federal Laws.

Compensation for this Role: $100,000 - $120,000 Annually, DOE

General Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities

  • Maintain company policies adhering to local, state and federal health and safety regulations
  • Assist Safety and Health Manager in the implementation of internal safety policies and procedures to be followed by employees
  • Assist Safety and Health Manager in analyzing safety data to lead and coordinate the safety effort for continual improvement
  • Participate on teams and in meetings, as needed, to assist in the development of the company's health and safety policies and procedures
  • Assist Safety and Health Manager in recording and implementing the Company's Safety Committee
  • Represent the organization in the community and / or on industry safety groups and programs
  • Review jobsites and conducts audits for compliance with health and safety regulations making recommendations accordingly
  • Serve field employees as primary customer contact, generating good will when making recommendations related to health and safety improvements
  • Conduct safety and health related training as needed serving as back up for orientation
  • Stay current on any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization relating to health and safety
  • Travel by vehicle frequently to different jobsites and locations throughout the State of Colorado and into other states where Encore has a presence
  • Assist Safety and Health Manager in identifying and analyzing trends relating to health and safety

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Climbing multiple stories of stairs in high-rise buildings

  • Navigating narrow walkways and/or trenches or other tight spaces
  • Walk through hazardous and confined areas with ease
  • Pushing and pulling heavy electrical equipment

  • Distracted free driving of cars, trucks, and multipurpose jobsite vehicles
  • Kneeling
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates or Bachelors Degree in Health and Safety preferred.
  • 5-10 years of full time safety experience in the construction industry is required.
  • Experience supporting Safety initiatives on multiple large-scale commercial projects is required.
  • CHST is required.
  • CSP is preferred or a willingness to achieve CSP is required.
  • OSHA 500 is preferred.
