As a Safety Technician, you'll work alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, and field personnel to promote a strong safety culture, ensure OSHA compliance, and help every employee return home safely each day. What You'll DoAs a Safety Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections and document findings.
- Assist with implementing and enforcing company safety policies and procedures.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA, client, and company safety standards.
- Lead new hire safety orientations and assist with ongoing safety training.
- Conduct toolbox talks and weekly safety meetings.
- Perform hazard assessments and assist crews in developing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and property damage events, documenting corrective actions.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Monitor fall protection, excavation, confined space, lockout/tagout, and other high-risk activities.
- Maintain safety records, inspection reports, and training documentation.
- Assist with safety audits and client compliance requirements.
- Promote a positive, proactive safety culture across all projects.
QualificationsRequired - 1-3 years of construction safety experience (commercial construction preferred)
- Working knowledge of OSHA construction standards (29 CFR 1926)
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile technology
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to travel to regional jobsites
Preferred - First Aid/CPR Certification
- CHST or STSC certification (or working toward certification)
- Experience with commercial, industrial, or mechanical construction
- Knowledge of safety management software
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
