Full Job Description
Location: Worcester, MA
Pay: $50.00/hour (W2)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Approximately 8• 10 months
Schedule: Monday• Friday, approximately 40 hours/week
Project: New Construction
Per Diem: Not Available • Local Candidates Only

Medcor Safety, a subsidiary of Medcor, is seeking an experienced Safety Professional to support a new construction project in Worcester, MA.

This is an anticipated 8• 10 month assignment offering approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The Safety Professional will work closely with field personnel and site leadership to identify potential hazards, promote safe work practices, and help ensure compliance with federal, state, local, general contractor, and owner safety requirements.

We're looking for someone who brings strong construction safety experience, communicates well at all levels of an organization, and is comfortable being highly visible and engaged in the field.

What You'll Do
  • Build positive, professional relationships with field personnel, management, contractors, and outside agencies throughout all phases of construction.
  • Conduct regular site and crew safety audits to identify hazards, unsafe work conditions, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Recognize and reinforce safe work practices throughout the project.
  • Document audit findings and clearly communicate safety observations and recommended corrective actions.
  • Review and audit training records for field personnel.
  • Help implement and maintain applicable federal, state, local, client, and site-specific safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Review and participate in the development of accident briefs, safety publications, bulletins, and reports.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Site-Specific Safety Plans.
  • Participate in project kickoff meetings, toolbox talks, and other safety-related meetings.
  • Review client and owner safety requirements and help ensure project compliance.
  • Partner with site leadership and field personnel to proactively address safety concerns before they become incidents.

What We're Looking For

Required:
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant construction safety experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with field personnel, management, contractors, and clients
  • Basic computer proficiency, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and internet-based applications

Preferred:
  • CHST certification
  • OSHA 500 certification
  • Previous experience working on National Grid projects

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, climbing stairs and ladders, and working on elevated platforms. The Safety Professional must be able to communicate effectively, maintain appropriate visual awareness of the worksite, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
