Job Description Summary:
Reporting directly to the Regional Safety Manager - MasTec Power Delivery East, the Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs related to electrical power systems, substations, transmission and distribution assets, and associated operations. The role ensures compliance with applicable safety regulations, reduces operational risks, and promotes a strong safety culture across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Work as a leader in the safety department, functioning under the authority and direction of the Safety Director
- Daily, set exemplary standards of ethics and stewardship of the company's resources, support company philosophy, practice and goals, function as a team player and help to maintain good communication with the Safety Department
- Assure that all projects within the assigned project(s) are in full compliance with the company Safety Policy and all applicable federal and state regulations, including accurate and current record keeping, thorough frequent and ongoing on-site reviews of the project safety programs
- Conduct and/or oversee all project safety training programs for employees at all levels as required
- Develop and maintain electrical and power safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and other applicable standards.
- Lead incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
- Deliver safety training programs focused on electrical hazards and safe work practices.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor safety performance and compliance.
- Maintain safety records, reports, and regulatory documentation.
- Collaborate with operations teams to improve safety performance.

- Read, analyze and interpret safety statistics, technical procedures or governmental regulations for application in the company

Education and/or Work Experience: - BS in Health & Safety Mgt, Risk Mgt and/or related field experience; pro designation(s) preferred- CSP, ASP, CUSP, CHST
- 5+ years of relevant industry safety experience (field-based workforce; energy/construction)
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
