RANDALL is seeking an experienced, hands-on
Safety Manager to join our team and lead our safety efforts for projects along the
Space Coast of Florida from our office in
Titusville. This position will provide leadership and oversight of safety programs supporting our construction operations, with an emphasis on creating a strong safety culture, reducing risk, maintaining regulatory compliance, and ensuring our employees go home safely every day.
Position SummaryThe Safety Manager is responsible for leading and supporting RANDALL's safety initiatives across assigned projects and operations. This individual will work closely with project management, field supervision, Safety Specialists, and employees to identify hazards, implement corrective actions, conduct training, investigate incidents, and promote consistent compliance with RANDALL safety policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will be a visible safety leader who is comfortable spending significant time in the field, communicating with employees at all levels, and proactively addressing safety concerns before they become incidents.
Essential Functions- Provideleadership, direction, and oversight for safety activities across assignedconstruction projects and operations.
- Promote andreinforce a proactive safety culture throughout RANDALL's field andoperational teams.
- Conduct regularjobsite safety inspections and audits to identify unsafe conditions,behaviors, and potential regulatory compliance issues.
- Document safetyobservations, communicate findings to Safety and Project Management, andensure corrective actions are completed.
- Partner withproject managers, superintendents, foremen, and field personnel to developpractical solutions to safety-related issues.
- Ensure employeesreceive appropriate site-specific safety orientation and required safetytraining before and during their assignments.
- Assist in thedevelopment, implementation, and continuous improvement of company safetypolicies, procedures, and programs.
- Lead orparticipate in injury, incident, near-miss, and property-damageinvestigations, including fact finding and root cause analysis.
- Ensure incidentsand injuries are reported promptly and required documentation is completedand distributed to the appropriate parties.
- Track correctiveactions resulting from inspections, incidents, and safety observationsthrough completion.
- Attend andactively participate in project safety coordination meetings.
- Develop andprovide materials for weekly toolbox talks, tailgate meetings, and othersafety meetings.
- Conduct safetymeetings and training for employees and supervisors as needed.
- Coach fieldsupervision and employees on hazard recognition, safe work practices, andaccountability.
- Monitor the useand condition of required personal protective equipment and reinforceapplicable PPE requirements.
- Support safetyplanning for high-risk construction activities and changing jobsiteconditions.
- Maintain organizedsafety records and assist with documentation required by customers,projects, and regulatory agencies.
- Monitor safetyperformance, identify recurring trends, and recommend measures to reduceincidents and improve overall safety performance.
- Coordinate withRANDALL leadership and project teams on client-specific safetyrequirements.
- Provide guidanceand mentorship to Safety Specialists and other field safety personnel, asassigned.
- Maintainprofessional working relationships with employees, customers, generalcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
Tis Safety role includes jobsite audits, incident reporting and root cause analysis, safety coordination meetings, toolbox meetings, worker and supervisor training, and site safety orientations. This Manager role retains those core responsibilities while adding leadership, accountability, trend analysis, program oversight, and mentoring responsibilities appropriate for the higher-level position.
Qualifications / Education / Work Experience- 5+ years ofprogressive safety experience in commercial construction, electricalconstruction, or a closely related environment preferred.
- Previousexperience leading safety activities on large commercial constructionprojects strongly preferred.
- OSHA 30-HourConstruction certification required.
- OSHA 510 and/orOSHA 500 required.
- Education orformal training in Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Safety,Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field preferred.
- CPR, First Aid,and AED certification required or ability to obtain; instructor/trainercertification preferred.
- BilingualEnglish/Spanish strongly preferred.
- Ability tosuccessfully complete required background checks for project badging.
- Strong workingknowledge of construction safety practices and hazard recognition.
- Demonstratedability to investigate incidents, identify root causes, and drivecorrective actions.
- Strong leadershipskills with the ability to coach employees and influence safe behavior atall levels of an organization.
- Excellent written,verbal, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Strong computerskills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Ability to managecompeting priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamicconstruction environment.
- Ability andwillingness to regularly travel to and work on active constructionjobsites.
The OSHA, bilingual, occupational safety training, background-check, CPR/First Aid/AED, communication, Microsoft Office/Excel, and construction-safety requirements build directly on RANDALL's existing Safety Specialist qualifications.
Physical RequirementsThis position requires regular work in shop and active field/jobsite environments. The Safety Manager must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, remain on their feet for extended periods, and bend, stretch, crouch, climb, and move throughout active construction environments as necessary.
The position also requires the ability to recognize and respond appropriately to potentially hazardous conditions, respond to audible warnings, and properly wear required personal protective equipment. These requirements align with the field requirements identified in RANDALL's Safety Specialist position.
