Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and implementing safety policies and procedures

Full Job Description
Currently, we are looking for a highly organized, dynamic, and energetic Safety Manager to join our team of Industry Professionals.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists, plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT).
  • Advises Safety Team on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions.
  • Performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
  • Conducts accident investigation and prepares report identifying possible accident causes and hazards for use by company personnel and senior management.
  • Assists in the development, evaluation and upgrading of safety programs.
  • Conduct site specific safety orientation.
  • Maintains safety files and records.
  • Assists, plans and implements training for employees in work site safety practices.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively

  • Coaching/Teaching skills


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Education in Safety and Health preferred
  • Working knowledge of government and other regulations. (i.e. Army Corps of Engineers)
  • Strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Detailed and organized

  • Excellent computer, communication and training skills.
  • Overnight travel will be required.
  • Must have an acceptable driver's license and be able to pass a background check.
  • OSHA10, OSHA30, and OSHA 500 (preferred)
  • Safety experience in heavy civil construction, with a working knowledge of safety/environmental principles and technique preferred.
  • Prefer experience in OSHA, MSHA, DOT and EPA regulatory requirements.
