DESCRIPTION:

The Safety Manager provides guidance and direction for the planning, implementation and on-going evaluation of safety policies and procedures to provide a safe working environment for employees. Serves as a local safety advocate engaging local employees in the Safety Program to work towards achieving continuous improvement and expense reduction. The qualified candidate

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Bachelor's Degree is required or equivalent job experience; occupational safety/industrial, health education or degree in a related field is strongly preferred.
  • CSP or CHST Certification strongly preferred
  • Five (5) years of work experience in a safety leadership role, including several years of work in an aviation or airport environment preferred
  • Proven record of continuous improvement with accomplishments to support success
  • Thorough understanding of and ability to enforce federal, state, local and company regulations
  • Expert knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ISAGO, SMS and DOT standards
  • Strong leadership and proactive problem solving skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated organizational and prioritization abilities
  • Ability to analyze various types of data and produce reports for senior management
  • Proven success in developing, training and implementing safety procedures and best practices
  • Demonstrated presentation, training and facilitation skills
  • Must have a reliable mode of communication and transportation

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
  • Airport experience
  • Management or supervisory experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of Safety and Compliance experience

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Must meet necessary requirements to obtain a security sensitive identification badge.
  • Must be a citizen of the United States or possess the necessary authorization from the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS).
  • Perform other duties as requested.
