Safety Integration Manager Summary:

The Safety Integration Manager plays a key role in aligning Townsend's training systems, operational learning, and integration efforts with the company's growth strategy. This position leads the planning, coordination, and execution of training, onboarding, and cultural alignment efforts related to newlyacquired companies, divisions, and business transitions.

This role helps ensure new organizations entering the Townsend family are integrated in a way that reflects Townsend's Core Values, and commitment to Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) and Safety Differently principles. The Safety Integration Manager works across departments to support consistent expectations while recognizing operational realities, local context, and the need to build trust during periods of change.

In addition to acquisition-related responsibilities, this role also provides direct support for targeted field safety assessments and improvement efforts in selected regions or business units. The position partners closely with operational leadership and regional safety leaders to strengthen learning, improve field engagement, support frontline leaders, and promote more effective and sustainable system performance.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Acquisitions Integration & Organizational Alignment
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Health & Safety Department and the mergers and acquisitions team.
  • Lead safety, training, and compliance integration efforts for newly acquired companies and divisions.
  • Support integration in a manner that aligns acquired organizations with Townsend's Core Values, and Safety Differently philosophy while accounting for operational context and transition challenges.
  • Conduct pre-acquisition and early-transition reviews of safety, training, and operational support systems to identify risks, gaps, strengths, and priority needs.
  • Develop and execute post-acquisition onboarding, orientation, and integration plans for safety and training systems.
  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration among Safety, Operations, HR, Legal, Fleet, and other key partners to support integration success.
  • Communicate integration progress, key challenges, emerging risks, and success measures to executive leadership.

Training Strategy, Development & Oversight
  • Manage corporate training initiatives across business units in support of operational consistency, employee readiness, and learning.
  • Review, refine, and enhance training materials, delivery methods, and learning approaches to improve practical application in the field.
  • Collaborate with field trainers, safety leaders, and operations to improve consistency while recognizing differences in work conditions and business needs.
  • Develop new learning modules and training resources aligned with operational needs, industry requirements, and company priorities.
  • Track training-related metrics and feedback to evaluate effectiveness, identify opportunities, and strengthen learning outcomes.
  • Help ensure training systems support not only compliance, but also understanding, capability, and field application.

Field Safety Assessments & Improvement Support
  • Oversee targeted field safety assessments in regions, operating areas, or business units requiring additional support or focused improvement.
  • Partner with Senior Regional Safety Specialists and operational leaders to identify trends, constraints, and recurring field challenges.
  • Support development and implementation of practical improvement plans based on field conditions, observations, and operational learning.
  • Mentor field safety staff and leaders to strengthen field engagement, assessment quality, coaching effectiveness, and documentation practices.
  • Capture, organize, and share key learnings from field assessments and integration work to support broader organizational resilience and improvement.
  • Help connect field observations to system-level opportunities in training, planning, communication, and leadership support.

Learning, Culture & Continuous Improvement
  • Promote training and integration approaches that reflect Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles and a learning-focused view of safety.
  • Support efforts to understand how work is actually performed and where systems, training, or conditions may not fully support success.
  • Encourage practical feedback loops between field operations, training systems, and leadership expectations.
  • Help translate lessons learned from acquisitions, field assessments, and operational challenges into improved training content, onboarding strategies, and organizational support systems.
  • Promote a culture of safety, integrity, trust, and continuous improvement throughout integration and training efforts.

Compliance, Documentation & General Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records related to training, onboarding, integration activities, and field assessments.
  • Support compliance with OSHA 1910.269, ANSI Z133, and related regulatory or client requirements through effective training and integration practices.
  • Prepare summaries, reports, and presentations related to training initiatives, integration progress, and improvement efforts.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.


Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum three (3) years in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions, organizational integration, change management, or business transition support preferred.
  • Experience in training development, workforce onboarding, or safety program implementation preferred.
  • Familiarity with Human and Organizational Performance (HOP), operational learning, or learning-focused safety approaches preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
