Position Overview

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting and promoting a strong safety culture across surface and underground mining operations at the Cadomin Mine. This role partners closely with employees, supervisors, and contractors to ensure compliance with health and safety standards, proactively identify and mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement in workplace safety.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Implement and support all Safety and Health programs including Heidelberg Materials Safety/Health Management System.
  • Provides ongoing safety and health support and guidance to the Cadomin limestone mine operation, management and employees.
  • Continuous interpretation and compliance planning for current and emerging safety regulatory requirements at all levels affecting the assigned facilities including Federal, Provincial and local.
  • Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Group guidelines, completing of required training, and monitoring compliance.
  • Proactively manage safety and health of employees to continuously improve the company's safety and health performance.


What Are We Looking For
  • Post-Secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant safety experience in building materials, heavy construction, mining and or manufacturing.
  • Holds or is pursuing a CRSP designation.
  • Experience and competence in developing and implementing safety programs.
  • Strong management, interpersonal, and influencing skills at all levels from senior operations to plant level employees.


Work Environment
  • Role operates at a limestone mine where the conditions include underground and surface mining operations, heavy equipment, blasting, conveyors, onsite mechanical shop and an outside work environment.
