  • Determine bypassed pay and manage Conformance program for AFE justification and BPP estimates.
  • Maintain schedules for injection profiles and step rate tests for field injectors.
  • Collaborate with Gas Plant, Field Production, and Field Injection teams to manage CO2 injection pressures.
  • Prepare flow stream forecasting and presentations for annual budget updates.

What We Are Looking For

This position is responsible for leading and directing the Reservoir Engineering and Planning team responsibilities of the SACROC Surveillance Team related to the company interest in the SACROC Field Diamond M, and North McElroy Units.

What You Will Do

Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Lead, direct and supervise staff within the SACROC Surveillance Reservoir Engineering and Planning team.
  • Manage Reservoir Engineering portion of field surveillance including but not limited to:
    • Project Area injector performance and flow stream forecasts.
    • CO2 utilization and WAG scheduling.
    • Bypassed pay determination.
    • Manage Reservoir Engineering portion of Conformance program to provide AFE justification, BPP estimates, and economic evaluation.
    • Maintain and manage schedule to provide injection profiles and step rate tests for the SACROC field injectors.
    • Work directly with Gas Plant, Field Production and Field Injection teams to control the field CO2 injection pressure through management of the injector Switch List.
    • Prepare flow stream forecasting for and presentations of the Annual Budget and QBR Evergreen updates.
    • Provide support to the KM Reserves Evaluation team with respect to SACROC flow stream forecasts and Project Area activation timing.
    • Set goals and objectives for direct reports and ensure programs are in place to attain goals.
    • Set priorities and assign engineering projects.
    • Maintain close working relationship between surveillance personnel and the personnel/operations of the other SACROC departments.
    • Assure the development and training of direct reports.

What You Need

Minimum requirements:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor degree in engineering/geosciences
  • Experience / specific knowledge:
    • 7 plus years in the oil and gas. CO2/Waterflooding experience is a plus.
  • Certifications, licenses, registrations:
    • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Competencies, skills, and abilities:
    • High competency in managing the engineering and operations of oil & gas operations.
    • High competency in implementation and evaluation of CO2 enhanced oil recovery or other improved oil recovery techniques.
    • High competency in evaluating and making optimum economic decisions
    • Effective with performance management
  • Working conditions:
    • Primarily office.
    • Working after hours, nights, weekends, holidays and on-call as needed.
  • Supervisory responsibility:
    • Reservoir Engineers
    • Engineering Technicians
  • Physical Demands:
    • Predominantly office environment.
    • Frequent travel to field sites.
