Full Job Description
JOB TITLE: Respiratory Care Practitioner III

REPORTS TO: Manager of Cardiopulmonary Services

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction and authorization of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director, an RCP III is responsible for performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician. Emphasis will be toward the assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of care, with consideration of age and population-specific needs and requirements of the patient. May be assigned/identified as Lead RCP. Attends all C-sections and provides Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) coverage. Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Associate degree in respiratory therapy required. If Associate degree not obtained, high school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of critical care experience from newborn to geriatric. Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a NICU preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Current Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure in the State of California. CRT or RRT preferred. Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP required. Current S.T.A.B.L.E. certificate preferred. Neonatal Pediatric Specialist preferred and/or Adult Critical Care Specialist preferred.
