About the role: Robotics Integration Engineer for Robot, Vision, and Edge Connectivity Are you a robotics software engineer who enjoys connecting real-world systems to scalable software platforms?
Do you like working with robots, cameras, sensors, edge systems, APIs, and data flows that bridge physical systems and software intelligence?
We are seeking a Robotics Integration Engineer to connect robot systems, camera systems, sensors, edge devices, and teleoperation or runtime-adjacent data sources into the Canada Physical AI platform. This role is critical for enabling practical data collection, connector strategies, and the foundations for future workflow execution and Level 3 skill support.
You will help ensure that real industrial robotics and sensing systems can be integrated into a coherent, reliable, and reusable platform architecture!
What will you do? - Build and maintain integrations with robot controllers, camera systems, sensors, PLC/edge systems, and other physical data sources.
- Develop connector patterns for robot state, action, telemetry, timing, event, and perception data.
- Support practical approaches for high-frequency data capture and synchronization where needed.
- Integrate robotics-related software components such as ROS/ROS2, device SDKs, vendor APIs, and edge adapters where appropriate.
- Collaborate with platform architects and backend engineers to define reusable interface contracts between physical systems and platform services.
- Help enable basic VLA data collection patterns by combining robot state and vision/perception streams.
- Support data quality, calibration, timestamping, modality alignment, and integration troubleshooting.
- Contribute to the design of validation and inspection workflows for robotics episodes and system behavior.
- Help shape future support for workflow execution and machine-level orchestration by ensuring connectivity designs are scalable and extensible.
- Work closely with customer-facing or pilot-oriented teams when new robotic sources must be onboarded.
What you will bring: - Master's degree or equivalent experience in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience with robotics software, integration engineering, or edge-connected systems.
- Experience with Python and/or C++ in robotics or integration-heavy environments.
- Familiarity with ROS/ROS2, robot APIs, camera/sensor systems, and practical integration debugging.
- Understanding of robot-state data, telemetry, task execution context, and perception or control-adjacent signals.
- Strong systems thinking and comfort working across hardware-software boundaries.
- Ability to work hands-on in a fast-moving, cross-disciplinary engineering team.
What sets you apart: - Experience with industrial robots, PLC-connected systems, teleoperation data, or industrial camera systems.
- Experience with time synchronization, multimodal sensor fusion, or high-throughput data capture.
- Familiarity with UR, RTDE-like interfaces, edge compute setups, or industrial middleware.
- Exposure to robotics validation harnesses, simulation environments, or physical AI experimentation.
Salary: Salary is commensurate with experience, and base salary ranges between $130,000 - $ 155,000 CAD excluding bonus and benefits. In addition to base salary, this role includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus of 10 % of base salary, based on Company performance metrics.
