X This is a specialized role which requires physical interaction with hardware equipment in a simulated data center environment, utilizing Google labs, power, and safety equipment. Regular development and processing of engineering hardware must be performed on site.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in mechatronics engineering and robotics product development.
  • Experience deploying full-stack robotics systems.
  • Experience with robotics applications development, or transitioning research and development (R&D) projects into deployed systems.
  • Experience with robotic control, planning, kinematics, or mechatronic systems.

Preferred qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience with the overall process for developing robotics products, including experience identifying issues and considerations for delivering a robotics product.
  • Experience with collaborative robot systems, human-robot interaction design considerations, embedded systems, sensor fusion, and actuator control.
  • Experience building hardware and embedded architectures for state estimation, service level availability simulation (SLAM), and proprioception pipelines, ensuring compliance with embodied AI safety standards across distributed fleets.
  • Experience with sensor integration and calibration for robotics applications, including systems, LiDAR, and inertial measurement units.
  • Experience in project management or leading cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with motion control systems and robotics programming languages (e.g., ROS.)

Responsibilities
  • Implement the strategy for our robotics stack- leverage architectures, design systems, and integrate to achieve dynamic time-to-market goals for data center automation.
  • Engage with cross functional partners to identify opportunities for automation and gaps in current designs.
  • Lead hardware architecture reviews with software and system teams to identify and address potential gaps in the technical design, ensuring the overall solution performance and scalability.
  • Lead and participate in design reviews to address technical issues during the development, document design decisions, specifications, test procedures, and results, maintaining clear and organized records to facilitate knowledge sharing and project continuity.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and external partners (including solution vendors and contract manufacturers) throughout the development life-cycle, addressing inquiries and resolving issues as they arise.
