Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with internal multidisciplinary teams on project aspects such as traffic and drainage.
  • Assist in project scoping, budgeting, and QA/QC reviews.
  • Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and design documentation.
  • Participate in internal project meetings and coordinate with clients and stakeholders.

What Your Day Will Look Like:


Consor North America, Inc. (Consor) is seeking a mid-level Roadway Engineer to support the planning, design, and delivery of transportation projects in Colorado. This role is ideal for an engineer who is technically strong, growing into project leadership, and eager to expand their experience working alongside senior engineers and project managers on meaningful, multimodal infrastructure projects.

 

Salary: $105,000-140,000K (DOE)

What You'll Do:

  • Support the design and delivery of roadway and transportation projects, ensuring quality standards, schedules, and budgets are met.
  • Perform roadway design tasks including horizontal and vertical alignments, typical sections, drainage concepts, and traffic control plans.
  • Develop plans, specifications, and cost estimates (PS&E) under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Coordinate with internal multidisciplinary teams (traffic, drainage, utilities, structures, environmental).
  • Assist with project scoping, budgeting, and QA/QC reviews.
  • Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and design documentation.
  • Participate in internal project meetings and coordination with clients and stakeholders.
  • Support proposal efforts through technical write-ups, scope development, and cost estimates.
  • Participate in professional development, mentoring, and training opportunities.

What You'll Need:

Required Credentials

  • 6+ years of experience in roadway or transportation engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with the ability to obtain PE within a defined timeframe.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or related discipline.
  • Working knowledge of roadway design standards (AASHTO, CDOT, and local municipal criteria).
  • Proficiency with roadway design software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or equivalent.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Preferred Qualifications (not required)

  • Experience delivering plans, specifications, and estimates for public-sector transportation projects.
  • Previous consulting experience supporting municipal, county, or state DOT clients.
  • Familiarity with CDOT policies, design manuals, and project development processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work products.
  • Interest in mentorship, professional growth, and increasing technical or task leadership responsibilities.
 While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling. This job may occasionally require operating a company vehicle, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
