Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesAs our Wound Care Nurse, you will specialize in comprehensive wound and ostomy care. You will elevate care quality, optimize patient outcomes, and ensure cost-effective management.Every day you will provide expert consultation and direct care for complex wounds. You'll assess, plan, and evaluate individualized care, educate patients/staff on best practices, monitor outcomes, and ensure protocol adherence.To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong critical thinking, communication, and a commitment to evidence-based practice.
- Promotes an interdisciplinary approach to wound/ostomy care/PICC line insertions within the hospital setting. Measurements: Observation, Documentation, Feedback.
- Encourages involvement of patient/family/significant other in decision making related to plan of care. Measurements: Observation, Documentation, Feedback.
- Independently assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the wound care of patients. Documents skin condition on progress notes and on skin assessment record. Measurements: Observation, Documentation, Feedback.
- Observes the wound care of other nursing team members and assumes a resource and clinical education role. Measurements: Observation, Documentation, Feedback.
- Gives direction to staff members related to wound care of patients/residents and specialty bed usage. Measurements: Observation, Documentation, Feedback.
- Identifies educational needs and conducts education classes in coordination with nursing education department as needed. Measurements: Observation, Documentation, Feedback.
Job Requirements
Required
- Three (3) years of clinical experience required, with experience in woundostomy care, and PICC line insertion
- Registered Nurse: RN
- Basic Life Support - BLS
- High School Graduate or GED

- Bachelors Of Nursing - BSN
