The Supervisor of Palliative Care assist the Manager in the planning, organizing and directing of palliative care services. This position supervises the team(s) and is responsible for day to day patient care operations as well as, team support. Responsible for conflict management, negotiation, team building, communication, budget administration, and coaching/mentoring. Directs patient assignments, staff scheduling, evaluations, patient flow, and assists in meeting financial targets by effectively assisting in managing utilization, productivity, personnel, and supplies.
QualificationsEducation
High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE), or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
Experience
4 years of staff RN experience in area of specialty providing a full spectrum of care in a variety of situations required
Experience as a Palliative Care Nurse and providing mentorship, education, and training to interdisciplinary staff preferred
Experience as a Nurse Supervisor or a similar position in an acute care hospital preferred
Licenses and Certifications
BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
RN - Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work within the state of California required
NATIONAL - National Certification related to specialty and applicable to role required within 180 days of hire or transfer into position
