RN Supervisor - Full-Time Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)

Position Summary

Geneva General Hospital is seeking an experienced and compassionate RN Supervisor to provide clinical leadership and operational support throughout the acute care setting during night shifts, weekends, and holidays. This leadership role is responsible for coordinating clinical activities, supporting nursing staff, ensuring quality patient care, and responding to emergency clinical and administrative situations in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

The RN Supervisor serves as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff while promoting a collaborative, patient-centered environment focused on safety, professionalism, and excellence in care delivery.

Schedule: Full-Time
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Essential Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee clinical operations throughout the acute care setting during assigned shifts
  • Provide leadership and support to nursing staff in planning, organizing, evaluating, and delivering patient care
  • Collaborate with Nurse Managers and unit staff to monitor staffing levels and adjust assignments based on patient acuity and operational needs
  • Respond to emergency clinical and administrative situations in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff
  • Promote effective communication and teamwork among interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Support staff competency development and ongoing education initiatives
  • Participate in nursing leadership committees, quality initiatives, and problem-solving activities
  • Ensure patient care standards are maintained for all age groups served within the organization
  • Foster a healing environment that promotes dignity, respect, safety, and positive patient outcomes


Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Professional Nursing required
  • BSN preferred

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required through the RQI system during clinical orientation
  • CPI certification required within 90 days of hire
  • Moderate Sedation competency required within six months of hire

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years acute care RN experience required
  • Minimum of 1 year leadership experience at the Charge Nurse level required
  • Critical care experience preferred
  • Prior experience within a health system preferred

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong clinical judgment and prioritization skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated professionalism and leadership
  • Computer literacy required; experience with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records preferred
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is anticipated
  • Position may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissues in the course of patient care activities
