Full Job Description
In this position you will:
Provide leadership, direction, and coordination, either through appropriate delegation or directly, to the 24-hour operation of assigned service line inpatient units.
Monitor the sound fiscal management of assigned units and programs and their compliance with the requirements of licensing, regulatory, and accrediting bodies.
Establish and maintain a clinical environment that enables programs to meet or exceed budgeted census, is proactive and responsive to changes in patient acuity and census, makes appropriate adjustments to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment of care, and fosters staff training, growth, and retention.
Requirements:
Position requires a thorough knowledge of nursing, nursing management, and psychiatric nursing, comprehensive knowledge of licensing, regulatory, and accreditation practices and requirements, general administrative and human resources theory, resource and program planning, and clinical care practices - acquired through completion of a Master's degree in Nursing or appropriate area plus 5-7 years of progressively more responsible clinical care experience, including at least 3 years of management experience.
Requires current licensure as a Registered Nurse to practice in the State of Maryland at the time of appointment and continuously while in position.
A very high level of interpersonal skills is required of this position to provide leadership and direction to assigned nursing unit and shift leadership; to interact effectively with the medical staff; to work with and/or chair task forces and committees; and to facilitate team building.
Position requires problem-solving and conceptual skills to determine optimum patient care requirements, maximize the utilization of resources, and identify and supervise performance improvement initiatives for assigned areas of responsibility.
Work meeting deadlines, responding promptly to critical organizational and functional issues, and managing the demands of multiple projects very frequently (51-80% of work time) produces a great deal of mental/visual stress and fatigue.
The pay range for this position is $117,062.40 to $192,944.54 maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.
