Harborview Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for a Trauma Care Nurse Coordinator (Registered Nurse) to join our team.

UNITDESCRIPTION

The Harborview Trauma Program consists of inpatient care coordinators, multidisciplinary clinicians, trauma registrars, quality assurance and improvement, and education outreach teams. Departmental activities include abstracting clinical data for entry into our registry, monitoring and analyzing data, and care coordination of all Harborview trauma admissions to ensure patient safety, best practice standards, and optimal outcomes.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
  • Assist with trauma program evaluation, quality assurance, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain trauma registry and data quality.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, registry staff, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Help maintain Level I Trauma Center designation and quality standards.
  • Play a key role in advancing patient safety, quality, and outcomes within one of the region's leading trauma programs.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the continuum of trauma patient care, serving as a clinical resource and advocate for evidence-based trauma practice guidelines, protocols, and standards of care.
  • Collaborate with inpatient trauma clinicians, the Trauma Registry, and Quality Improvement (QI) team to monitor patient care and identify opportunities to improve quality and outcomes.
  • Conduct concurrent patient monitoring and chart review to identify gaps in care, quality concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Help coordinate care and implement corrective measures to support patients along expected care pathways and ensure timely communication of identified quality outcomes.
  • Perform patient data abstraction and entry into the Trauma Registry and contribute to quality assurance and process improvement initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary trauma care team, using strong clinical expertise, communication skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of trauma care to promote high-quality patient outcomes.


REQUIREMENTS
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • Current or eligible Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Five or more years of professional nursing experience, preferably in trauma, general surgery, critical/acute care, or emergency services
  • Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration


Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:
$46.97 hourly
Pay Range Maximum:
$87.02 hourly
