Description:
The facility has 100 resident beds, consisting of 96 semi-private and 4 private beds across two floors.
The environment includes patients with Dementia and Alzheimer's who wear trackers for safety.
Charting is done using an electronic medical record system along with paper documentation.
Staffing ratios are between 1:17 to 1:20.
If serving as House Supervisor, the RN will oversee the entire facility.
Common diagnoses among patients include Diabetes Mellitus, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, post-stroke care, heart disease, fractures, dementia, Alzheimer's, rehabilitation needs, chronic conditions, and multiple comorbidities.
Job duties encompass medication administration, vital signs monitoring, blood sugar management, wound care, ostomy care, Foley catheter management, tube feeding administration, and supporting team members.
Experience in Long Term Care / Skilled Nursing Facility settings is mandatory, with a preference for two years.
First-time travelers are welcome, but experienced travelers are preferred.
Occasional IV antibiotics and potential management of PICC lines are part of the responsibilities.
There are no telemetry monitors available.
Registered Nurses are required to attend daily interdisciplinary team meetings.
Supervisory personnel are present on every shift.
Physicians are available for consultation after hours, with Nurse Practitioners conducting rounds on weekdays.
An interdisciplinary team, including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Case Managers, Social Workers, and Dieticians, collaborates for patient care.
Respiratory treatments and equipment management are handled by RNs and LPNs, as there is no respiratory therapy on-site.
Medications are dispensed in bubble packs, with generic medications readily available on-site.
Shifts typically involve 2 RNs and/or LPNs along with several nursing assistants on each floor.
The scheduling process occurs six weeks in advance, with a need for flexibility in covering staffing gaps.
RNs may be required to work every other weekend and could be asked to work on holidays.
There are no on-call or standby requirements, as those are covered by permanent staff.
Floating between floors may be required.
Dress code includes professional scrubs without excessive jewelry, fake nails, or visible tattoos.
Department-specific orientation will be conducted over three shifts with a preceptor.
