Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesAs our RN Program Coordinator-Sepsis, you will assume overall responsibility for developing, coordinating, and maintaining the Sepsis Program, ensuring comprehensive and effective patient care. Every day you will drive program strategy, clinical protocols, and interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance early identification, treatment, and outcomes for sepsis patients throughout the facility. To be successful in this role, you will be a Registered Nurse with expertise in sepsis management, strong program development and coordination skills, and the proven ability to lead initiatives that improve patient outcomes and adhere to clinical standards.Provides coordination of the Sepsis Program, Sepsis CET Team and associated support staff to achieve and maintain desired quality and cost outcome goals. This includes writing, reviewing and revising program policies, procedures, protocols and practice standards.
- Coordinator will also provide education and training on new treatment options, as they become available, at the agreement of the Sepsis Physician Champion.
- Provides consultative services to support the assessment, nursing diagnoses, outcome identification, planning implementation (to include care coordination, health teaching and health promotion/consultation) monitoring and evaluation of sepsis patients, in accordance with the American Nurses Association Scope and Standards of Practice.
- Participates in performance improvement activities in collaboration with the medical staff, ancillary staff, and nursing staff, including making recommendations on performance improvement activities.
- As part of the clinical excellence, utilization review and risk management programs, Coordinator establishes procedures to ensure the consistency and quality of services provided by the Sepsis Program.
- Assures compliance with required CMS Core Measure standards and documentation for all sepsis team members.
- Must be comfortable in developing protocols, procedures and order sets with physicians, and presenting before high profile bodies such as the Community Board. Serves as the representative to any regulatory and accrediting bodies and ensures all standards are met.
The schedule is Day shift Monday-Friday. This position will be shared between the 2 locations, Holy Cross Salt Lake Hospital and Mountain Point.
Job Requirements
Required
- Bachelor27s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Three (3) years relevant healthcare experience.
- RN License; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact.
Preferred
- Background in nursing and data management.
- Experience with ER, ICU, or acute care.
- Certified Emergency or Critical Care Registered Nurse
