Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, particularly in urgent care and inpatient settings. As a PACU nurse, you will play a crucial role in monitoring patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring their safety and comfort during the critical post-operative period. Your expertise in airway management and aseptic techniques will be essential as you provide high-quality care to patients of all ages, including infants.

Duties
  • Monitor and assess patients' vital signs and overall condition post-surgery.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and manage intravenous (IV) lines.
  • Provide immediate care for any complications or emergencies that may arise.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure continuity of care.
  • Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery processes.
  • Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems such as Athenahealth.
  • Implement infection control protocols, ensuring aseptic techniques are followed at all times.
  • Assist with the transition of patients to inpatient units or home community care as needed.

This position is the pre and post procedure area for the Cardiac Cath Lab and IR. Expreince working withrecovering cardiac patients is required.

**Start times vary from 0600 to 1100. There is a call requirement of up to 3 shifts in a two week period which could include weekend call. Weekend call is Saturday from 0600 to Sunday at 0600 and Sunday from 0609 to Monday at 0600

Requirement: PACU or recovering of Heart Cath experience. Minimum of three years, but five is preferred.
