Position SummaryThe RN Nursing Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional nursing care in accordance with standard nursing practice and North Hill's high standards of care. This position involves conducting clinical rounds and actively collaborating with Resident Care staff to assess and address the care needs of our Residents.
Job Specific Duties - Assists in coordinating nursing services with other services to ensure the continuity of the Residents' complete plan of care
- Participates in facility surveys made by authorized governmental agencies
- Completes incident reports as necessary on a timely basis, notifies family and physician according to regulations and standards
- Provides direct nursing care in accordance with basic nursing practice and in accordance with North Hill standards of care
- Completes admission, transfer, and discharge requirements as necessary
- Completes all pertinent documentation and paperwork according to nursing standards of practice and North Hill policy and procedure
- Administers medications per policy and procedures
- Documents psychotropic drug use
- Responsible for Medicare documentation according to the Medicare Guidelines
- Responds to Residents call bells and alarms
- Monitors and oversees the care provided by the Care Partners and guides them to ensure Resident care meets North Hill standards
- Accurately assesses and treats expressions of pain to reduce severity and occurrence
- Conducts thorough assessments of residents in all facets of nursing care
- Ensures report to next shift is comprehensive and complete
- Responds to staff and report of change in Resident condition
- Assists physician/NP upon their visit to the facility
- Operates all equipment in a safe manner. Seeks manufacturer instructions if unsure of proper usage
- Reviews nurses' notes to determine if the care plan is being followed
- Ensures that clinical Team Members refer to the Resident's plan of care
- Initiates and maintains care plans with current information
- Recommends any equipment needed to enhance or add services
- Completes admission, quarterly and annual assessments as assigned
- Monitors nursing care to ensure that all Residents are treated fairly, with dignity, and respect
- Participates in Quality Assurance program
- Completes audits for quality compliance
- Ensures orders are completed in a timely and accurate manner
- Adheres to policies and procedures, participates in keeping them updated
- Conducts staff meetings and staff evaluations
- Ensures staff are assigned on each unit based on Resident care needs
- Provides unit based coverage as needed
- Recognizes and reports all allegations of Resident abuse, neglect, exploitation, social media exposure, and/or misappropriation of Resident property immediately
- Honors Resident's refusal of treatment request
- Meets department uniform, appearance, and grooming requirements
- Complies with all OSHA safety regulations, local applicable laws regarding health, safety or environment

- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with Team Members, Residents, family members, visitors, and the general public
- Work professionally with people from a wide variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
- Complies with protection of health information (HIPAA) safeguards
- When working in Resident areas, must be able to communicate effectively in English
- Attends and participates in in-service educational classes, memory care training, Healthcare Academy and staff meetings as directed
Education and Experience - Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university
- Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a RN in Massachusetts
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a nurse in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility
- Maintains CPR certification
- Previous management, supervisory, or leadership experience
- Training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices, preferred

Pay Range: $51.00-$56.00/hourIndividual compensation within this range is based on a candidate's specific qualifications, including education, overall experience, relevant experience, and specific skills.
