Job Summary and QualificationsDemonstrates clinical competence to practice direct patient care within the unit's Scope of Care.
Manages day-to-day operations of the unit in meeting the mission of the company, hospital and department, as well as supporting an environment of care to meet that mission and to comply with all regulatory requirements.
Actively manages all variable costs within scope of responsibility to meet budgetary targets.
Communicates effectively with staff, peers, superiors, external and internal customers.
Utilizes quality improvement strategies to improve unit/departmental processes, and to meet goals.
Oversees all aspects of staffing, acting in accordance with Human Resource policies and within budgetary limits, in targeted selection, in planned staff development opportunities, in making daily assignments, and in providing feedback.
Demonstrates effective leadership behaviors, modeling professionalism, accountability, and the pursuit of one's own professional growth and development
Education & Experience:
Two years experience as RN with demonstrated proficiency leadership and management skills - Required
Three years' experience as an OR RN in a charge nurse role - Preferred
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current license as a RN in the State of Virginia - Required
Educational programs in nursing management. Currently enrolled in a program of study obtaining a B.S.N. or B.S - Business Administration - Preferred
