Full Job Description
Location: Middletown, NY

Pay Rate: $42.50 per hour

$5,000 Sign-On Bonus. Payable after 3 and 6 months

Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5:00PM. No Weekends, No Holidays.

OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As an RN with OPWDD, you will provide direct patient care in 6 group homes, following the MD orders, while having some flexibility in your schedule.
You will provide professional nursing services including providing direct nursing care in the areas of health maintenance, nutrition, activities of daily living, and the treatment and prevention of illness.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

Services may also include, but are not limited to;
  • Nursing interventions and their documentation
  • Case finding
  • Health teaching/counseling
  • Provision of supportive and/or restorative care

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL / ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:

Additionally, you would participate in staff training, prepare clinical and administrative reports, maintain infection control standards, and function as a member of a treatment team. You may also provide supervision to subordinate professional, paraprofessional, and support staff in the performance of their patient/resident care duties and be responsible for maintaining inventory standards for medicine, controlled drugs and narcotics.

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:
  • Prior experience with electronic health records including electronic MARs (a plus but not required). Will train
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • BLS, fire safety training
  • Physical aspects, may include but are not limited to lifting and transferring
  • A valid NYS driver's license and ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency
  • Must be cleared and maintain acceptable record under the NYS OPWDD mandated criminal background check process

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Current, valid NY RN license
  • Associate's degree
