RN - Hospice Nurse Manager

Salary: $96,700 -$120,078 annually based on years of experience

A compassionate and dedicated jobseeker is needed for the Nurse Manager opportunity with Samaritan! As a Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for daily operations of the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal care is provided to hospice patients and their families. As a member of Samaritan's hospice management team and report to the Director of Senior Living. The Nurse Manager will demonstrate the Samaritan Difference in all interactions guides staff in providing care consistent with the commitments of the Samaritan Difference.

What You'll Do:
  • Responsible for the provision of quality patient care by Samaritan's hospice nurses in adherence with nursing practice standards
  • Facilitates interdisciplinary team meetings and fosters interdisciplinary teamwork and collaboration
  • Supervises assigned hospice nursing staff and is responsible for hiring, training, coaching and evaluation
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Ensures that care is provided in compliance with all applicable policies and regulations.
  • Reviews patient documentation regularly to ensure quality, timeliness and compliance with all requirements
  • Shares on call responsibilities with other nurse managers, on a rotating basis, to ensure 24-hour oversight of hospice care
  • Actively participates in performance improvement activities in collaboration with other managers and clinical educators - identifies operational/clinical issues, designs strategies for resolution, directs the implementation plan and evaluates the results
  • Ensures that patient care is delivered within cost-effective parameters, allocating resources appropriately and managing staff resources in relation to census trends
  • Assists in development education plan for nurses
  • Assists in development of policies and procedures
  • Effectively communicates with staff, colleagues and external customers
  • Participates in agency projects and committees

What You'll Bring:
  • BSN required; MSN or MS preferred
  • Long Term Care experience a plus.
  • New Jersey RN license required; CRNH and/or OCN desirable; valid New Jersey driver's license and auto insurance
  • 5 years Medical/Surgical, oncology, or hospice experience required; management experience preferred
  • Positive attitude; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to manage and encourage change; understanding of/and commitment to hospice philosophy
  • Ability to coach and mentor staff; ability to think globally and effectively foster staff support of agency mission and goals.
  • Microsoft office, proficiency in Excel, database proficiency
