What you'll do: - The Registered Nurse First Assistant is responsible through nursing processes for providing and coordinating nursing care and resource management for patients and families in the operating room.
- Support the patient care team by performing various multifunctional patient care duties.
- Under the direct supervision and direction of the operating surgeon, the RNFA functions during the assisting phase of the role until the conclusion of the operative procedure.
- Provides hemostasis by independently applying electrocautery and instrumentation directly to tissue or by suturing, application of tie ligatures and clips.
- Provides site exposure of relevant areas though appropriate use of instruments, retractors, suctioning and sponging techniques. Assists by handling tissue in dissection and suturing utilizing appropriate instrumentation during operative procedure.
- Performs wound closure of peritoneum, fascia, subcutaneous tissue and skin.
What We're Looking For: •
Education: Graduate of a school of Nursing. Completion of an accredited course in RN First Assisting required.

Experience: Three (3) to Five (5) years of demonstrated experience in field or profession preferred.

Certifications/Licenses/Registrations: Current license to practice as registered nurse in the State of Ohio. Current CNOR certification required. BLS required. ACLS preferred.
