Shift/Hours/FTE:1.0 FTE (40 hrs/wk), Evening Shift (12:00pm-10:30pm; 4 days per week; 2 weekend shifts required every 12 weeks)

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership- Provide leadership and oversight for the Psychiatry Float Pool (PSRU) team supporting the inpatient and residential psychiatric and behavioral health programs.
- Foster a culture of engagement, accountability, psychological safety, and continuous learning.
- Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop staff to support workforce stability and professional growth.
- Collaborate with Psychiatry Operations, Nursing Leadership, Clinical Directors, Educators, and other stakeholders to support patient care delivery.
- Promote workforce flexibility through cross-training, competency development, and ongoing professional development.
- Integrate the Interprofessional Practice Model (IPM) into daily operations and leadership practices.
- Support shared governance and evidence-based decision making.
Operations- Oversee daily staffing operations, deployment, and resource allocation across supported behavioral health areas.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to proactively address staffing needs, patient volume fluctuations, and workforce challenges.
- Monitor staffing effectiveness, workforce utilization, and operational performance metrics.
- Identify workflow efficiencies and implement operational improvements that support patient care and employee experience.
- Serve as a leadership resource for escalated staffing, operational, and employee concerns.
- Support onboarding and orientation of new float pool team members.
Quality and Compliance- Maintain knowledge of regulatory, accreditation, and organizational requirements.
- Partner with quality, education, and accreditation teams to ensure compliance and promote best practices.
- Monitor and support staff competency, required education, and clinical readiness.
- Participate in performance improvement activities that enhance patient safety, staff development, and operational effectiveness.
- Promote standardization of practice while supporting the unique needs of various behavioral health settings.
Workforce Development- Build and sustain a highly competent, adaptable workforce capable of supporting multiple psychiatric care environments.
- Support career progression, succession planning, and employee retention initiatives.
- Partner with educators and clinical leaders to identify training needs and competency gaps.
- Foster resilience, engagement, and professional satisfaction among team members.
Financial and Resource Management- Participate in workforce and resource planning decisions that support operational and financial goals.
- Monitor productivity and staffing metrics.
- Assist with budget development and ongoing financial stewardship.
- Identify opportunities for improved resource utilization while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Job QualificationsRequired- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Minimum three years of nursing experience.
- Active Ohio nursing license.
- Previous leadership, charge nurse, supervisory, or equivalent leadership experience.
Preferred- Behavioral health, psychiatry, or mental health nursing experience.
- Experience leading teams across multiple clinical environments.
- Experience with staffing operations, workforce planning, and resource management.
- Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
Position SummaryThe Clinical Manager for the PSRU Psychiatry Float Pool provides leadership for a flexible, psychiatry-focused team that supports behavioral health care delivery at our College Hill and Lindner Center of Hope locations. This role combines operational leadership, staffing strategy, staff development, and quality oversight to ensure the right resources are available to meet patient, family, and team needs.
