Who we are looking forThe Risk Strategy & Operational Resilience Vice President leads the implementation and ongoing execution of State Street's Business Continuity and Operational Resiliency program across assigned business areas and locations. The role works closely with Business Continuity Directors (BCDs), business stakeholders, and the Enterprise Resiliency Office to ensure continuity readiness, effective testing, and compliance with global standards and regulatory expectations.
This role combines strategic leadership with operational oversight, ensuring that risk frameworks, reporting, and processes are aligned to enterprise objectives, while also embedding robust Operational Resilience practices across Global Technology Services (GTS).
What you will be responsible forOperational Resilience & Crisis Management- Provide strategic leadership of Operational Resilience and Business Continuity across assigned areas
- Oversee the development and ongoing maintenance of BIAs, BCPs, and recovery strategies
- Lead scenario testing and exercising to validate resilience capabilities
- Support crisis and incident management, including coordination, communication, and post-event review
- Ensure risks to service continuity are identified, escalated, and remediated effectively
Governance, Risk Management & Regulatory Alignment- Own and enhance governance frameworks to ensure consistent risk management practices
- Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and internal policies across GTS
- Lead engagement with internal audit and regulators, shaping responses and outcomes
- Drive accountability and transparency in risk ownership and escalation
Operational Excellence & Transformation- Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness of risk and control processes
- Oversee risk monitoring activities and ensure consistent execution across teams
- Champion continuous improvement and innovation across risk and resilience processes
- Drive transformation initiatives, embedding sustainable and scalable solutions
Stakeholder Engagement & Influential Leadership- Act as a senior liaison across Technology, Business, and Risk functions
- Build strong relationships with executive stakeholders, regulators, and audit partners
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to team members
- Influence outcomes through effective communication, negotiation, and facilitation

- Experience working in the financial industry preferred but not required.
Education & Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or professional certification preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in risk management, operational controls, or leadership roles.
- Demonstrated expertise in risk assessment methodologies and metrics reporting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
Salary Range: $120,000 - $202,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
