Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Risk Manager to oversee and ensure compliance with our infrastructure projects within the Public-Private Partnership (P3) environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring our projects Proactively are adhering to legal and contractual obligations while fostering internal and external relationships that enable collaborative issue resolution leading to improved compliance in the contract and building strong relationships with the stakeholders. The Risk Manager will facilitate risk assessment, performance monitoring, and regulatory support to ensure operational excellence.

You will report directly to our Field Service Manager. Preferred work location is Calgary, AB and we are willing to consider applicants willing to work in ON and BC as well.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Contract and Compliance Management:
  • Monitor compliance with contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that all parties meet their stated commitments.
  • Review project contracts for potential risks and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.


Performance Monitoring:
  • Develop metrics to track compliance performance and report on project adherence to regulations and internal policies.
  • Create performance dashboards and regular reports for stakeholders.


Stakeholder Coordination:
  • Act as a liaison among project teams, external contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with stakeholders to address compliance issues proactively.


Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
  • Identify and analyze compliance risks associated with project operations, recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Document compliance issues and oversee resolutions, ensuring processes are in place to prevent recurrence.


Policy Development and Training:
  • Collaborate in developing compliance policies and procedures tailored to project needs.
  • Lead training sessions to educate project teams on compliance requirements.


Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for compliance audits, including preparation for internal and external reviews.
  • Report on compliance status to upper management, summarizing compliance issues and corrective actions taken.


Regulatory Support:
  • Work closely with legal teams to interpret regulations and ensure project implementations align with current laws.
  • Manage contract renewals and renegotiations, addressing compliance considerations effectively.


Qualifications

Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as law, business administration, project management, or compliance.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Quality management and compliance oversight.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with regulatory frameworks specific to Public-Private Partnerships (P3).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with risk management and building quality management systems in a services organization.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% within Canada.
