The Opportunity

The Risk Analyst II supports two key Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) programs: Top and Emerging Risk Management and Work Effort ("Change") Risk Management. This role participates in a variety of program activities, including policy oversight, adherence monitoring, risk reporting, governance support, and SharePoint site administration.

The position also contributes to risk simplification and continuous improvement initiatives by supporting process automation, data integration, reporting enhancements, and the adoption of modern technologies and AI-assisted tools to improve efficiency, scalability, and program effectiveness.

The successful candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions, influence stakeholders, appropriately escalate concerns, and clearly communicate risk insights and emerging trends to management and leadership.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position is in Plano, TX

What you'll do:
  • Partners with key stakeholders in the business to identify, assess, aggregate and document risks and controls, including risks associated with new or modified products, services, distribution channels, regulations and third-party operations utilizing maturing knowledge.
  • Assists in communicating results of risk assessments to governance committees, business process owners and various levels of leadership.
  • Supports the implementation of new risk policies, practices, appetites and solutions to ensure holistic understanding and management of risks according to industry best practice.
  • Supports processes that focus on enhancing strategies, tools, and methodologies to measure, monitor, and report risks.
  • Applies maturing knowledge to participate in producing analytical material for discussions with cross functional teams to understand business objectives and influence solution strategies.
  • Contributes in cross-functional teams to identify, assess, aggregate and mitigate current and emerging risk events.
  • Assists in the formulation of stress test plans for a line of business or the enterprise including the evaluation of results and framing of contingency plans in partnership with key business stakeholders.


What you have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or related field; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.


Experiences that will support your success:
  • 2 years of risk management, regulatory or operations experience in a relevant functional area to include banking, insurance, financial services, audit, project management, public accounting or other related operational area.
  • Or advanced degree/designation in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or other discipline relevant to risk management.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles, tools and applicable systems.
  • Risk management experience related to banking, insurance and/or financial services.
  • Ability to work with internal and external partners in a collaborative environment.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience analyzing data and identifying trends, issues, and opportunities for process improvement.

  • Working knowledge of AI tools and the ability to leverage AI to improve processes and drive operational efficiency
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders
  • U.S. military experience, either through direct service or as a military spouse/domestic partner, preferred
  • Experience supporting enterprise risk, operational risk, change risk, or governance programs.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience creating reports, presentations, dashboards, or executive-level communications.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint administration, document management, and program governance documentation.


Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $69,920 - $133,620

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
