Full Job Description
Provider Relations / Outreach / Business Development:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with rural healthcare providers, hospitals, physician groups, pharmacies, behavioral health organizations, and other healthcare stakeholders.
  • Conduct provider outreach through phone calls, emails, meetings, presentations, and onsite visits.
  • Schedule and facilitate provider meetings, educational webinars, and stakeholder sessions.
  • Build relationships with healthcare associations and key industry contacts.
  • Support provider onboarding, engagement, retention, and adoption initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to increase participation and utilization of NC HealthConnex services.
  • Provider Engagement & Training:
  • Lead provider engagement activities and support healthcare organizations in adopting HIE services into clinical workflows.
  • Conduct virtual and onsite training sessions for healthcare participants.
  • Develop training materials, user guides, and educational content.
  • Gather provider feedback and translate insights into actionable improvement strategies.
  • Support healthcare organizations in understanding the benefits of health information exchange.
  • Health IT & Interoperability Support:
  • Develop knowledge of CMS and ONC healthcare IT programs related to HIE services.
  • Assist providers with understanding state and federal healthcare programs, including:
  • Meaningful Use / Promoting Interoperability
  • Medicaid Health Home Programs
  • Health Information Exchange initiatives
  • Collaborate with technical teams to identify opportunities for improving data exchange and provider workflows.
  • Develop high-value healthcare use cases to promote adoption and utilization.
  • Reporting & Stakeholder Management:
  • Analyze engagement metrics and provider utilization data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and updates for leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Track outreach activities, provider feedback, adoption metrics, and project progress.
  • Participate in healthcare conferences, networking events, and industry presentations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on special projects and program initiatives.


Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in healthcare provider relations, outreach, account management, or business development.
  • Experience working with hospitals, physician groups, healthcare organizations, or public health programs.
  • Knowledge of Health Information Exchange (HIE), interoperability, and healthcare technology solutions.
  • Strong understanding of EHR/EMR systems and healthcare workflows.
  • Experience with provider training, stakeholder engagement, and change management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with NC HealthConnex or other state Health Information Exchange programs.
  • Experience working with state government healthcare initiatives.
  • Experience with CMS, ONC, Medicaid, or public health programs.
  • Experience supporting rural healthcare organizations.
  • Experience attending healthcare conferences and industry networking events.
