JOB TITLE: RHEL Systems Engineer – Travelling

AGENCY SUPPORTED: GSN/SIPRMOD (CACI), supporting a Global CSfC solution across multiple, geographically dispersed locations

LOCATION: CONUS/OCONUS — including Germany, Korea, and Hawaii (75%–100% Travel)

POSITION TYPE: Full-time; Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Local

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Active DoD Secret clearance (minimum) required. Current Active IAT Level II qualifying Cyber Security certification (Security+, CySA+, CISSP, etc.) required, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

 

Apriva is looking to add an additional dynamic and experienced Systems Engineer to its professional services group supporting GSN/SIPRMOD under CACI. We are looking for an experienced engineer who specializes in RHEL Linux servers and enterprise services within classified networks. This role will be engaged in a multiple-location, geographically dispersed, Global CSfC solution providing innovative solutions and next-generation capabilities for our clients.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer RHEL 8.x and newer servers hosting enterprise services such as DNS (BIND), NTP (Chrony), Satellite, VM backup, DHCP/IPAM, etc.
  • Support the troubleshooting of service integrations such as SIEM, Syslogging, PKI, and Global DNS to upstream customers.
  • Perform testing and documentation to report systems status and support operations.
  • Collaborate on a multi-disciplinary team of Software, Test, Network Engineers, and Operations staff for solution-wide testing and compliance requirements.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or security-related issues.
  • Plan and perform systems-level updates, maintenance, and disaster recovery operations.
Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an IT-related discipline, or equivalent related technical experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in a Systems Engineering or Systems Administration role.
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (minimum).
  • Current Active IAT Level II qualifying Cyber Security certification (Security+, CySA+, CISSP, etc.), or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • 8+ years of strong, in-depth experience implementing RHEL Linux server platforms and supporting services such as DNS, DHCP, CA, Satellite, NTP, etc. (RHEL v8 or newer).
  • Experience with server/system hardening in compliance with the NSA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG).
  • 8+ years of experience implementing, patching, updating, and securing Linux servers within an enterprise environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 75%–100%, including OCONUS locations such as Germany, Korea, and Hawaii.

DESIRED:

  • Current Active professional certifications (Microsoft, Linux, RHEL, AWS, Azure).
  • Previous engineering experience with CSfC solutions and Cross-Domain Solutions.
  • Working knowledge or experience with systems and security tools such as ACAS (Nessus), BitLocker, hardware & software data protection solutions, IIS, WSUS, SCCM/MECM.
  • Knowledge of server automation for deployment, configuration management, and device provisioning.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This role requires 75%–100% travel, both CONUS and OCONUS (including Germany, Korea, and Hawaii), supporting a geographically dispersed Global CSfC solution.
  • Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed for long periods of time throughout the day, and must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • For a large percentage of the work week, the environment will be ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment as found in a typical business office environment, along with work in a typical data center environment.
