CPD regulates planning, zoning, development and maintenance of private property in Denver. We're working hard to make Denver a great place to live, work and play! Visit . As Denver continues to grow, and as new major plans are adopted, including Comprehensive Plan 2040, Blueprint Denver, and Neighborhood Planning Initiative plans, the breadth and complexity of our regulatory work also grows. Increasingly, councilmember and CPD efforts to legislatively rezone the city help advance Denver’s goals. Privately initiated applications continue to be the majority of Denver’s rezonings, from large scale multi-phased development to homeowner investment to allow infill housing and everything in between, consistent with these plans. We need an innovative, well-organized professional to guide our rezoning team that is responsible for leading zoning map changes, also known as map amendments, to city council decisions that implement the city’s adopted plans. As the Rezoning Planning Supervisor your duties will include the following: Direct supervision of a team of six to seven staff , including supporting their professional development, managing workload and schedules, evaluating performance, and training Direct interaction with the regulatory planning manager to: Set work program goals and priorities Determine resource needs to accomplish work program objectives and to inform budget decisions Recommend improvements in processes, procedures, and policies Frequent collaboration with supervising principal city planners, supervisors, and managers to accomplish the rezoning work program including managing intake, making assignments, and balancing workloads, and coordinating with other planning and development processes Overseeing and guiding rezoning matters by providing leadership and instruction to planners working on rezoning projects including supporting and reviewing work products Representing and advocating for the rezoning work program in a variety of settings, including meetings with CPD leadership, City Council, and other stakeholders Creating and modifying methods and procedures to effectively carry out rezoning processes Developing, tracking, and reporting on performance metrics to measure the success of the rezoning work program, including use of Accela and Power BI dashboards What You’ll Bring We value diversity of ethnicity, race, socioeconomic status, sexual identity, gender, religion, language, ability, and experience and exemplify this through the makeup of our team at all levels. Experience: Seven (7) years of professional planning experience. Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
