The annual base salary range for this role is $171,000-$202,000 (USD) , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
Required Skills- Reverse Engineering Mastery: Hands-on experience reverse engineering complex malware binaries using disassemblers and decompilers (e.g., IDA Pro, Ghidra, Binary Ninja).
- Deep Technical & Binary Analysis: Demonstrated capability in analyzing malicious binaries to determine functionality, system impact, and underlying evasion mechanisms.
- Indicator Extraction & Threat Detection: Proven ability to identify, extract, and document Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) and translate findings into effective detection rules (e.g., YARA, Snort, Sigma) and mitigation strategies.
- Malware Analysis Methodologies: Experience applying both static analysis (code analysis, headers, imports) and dynamic analysis (debugging, sandboxing, behavioral observation).
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security, or a related technical discipline, PLUS
7+ years of professional experience in reverse engineering, malware analysis, or software development OR
Master's Degree in a related field, PLUS
5+ years of specialized technical experience OR
High School Diploma / GED, PLUS
11+ years of relevant hands-on experience in reverse engineering and low-level code analysis in lieu of a degree.
Desired SkillsSignature Creation: Experience crafting custom YARA rules or SNORT signatures based on binary findings.
Scripting & Automation: Proficiency with Python or C/C++ to build custom plugins, automate routine triage, or unpack payloads.
Network Protocol Dissection: Experience analyzing packet captures (PCAP) to correlate binary execution with network traffic patterns.
OS Internals: Deep understanding of OS API calls, process execution models, and memory management mechanics.
